So I bought a 2001 mm a month ago.
My first objective is to get rid of the "bog" down low.
I'm going to notch the reeds and I'm going to put on a hauck headgasket.
Will this eliminate it? Will I need remote fuel screw adjusters? I will ride in pretty much the same altitude all the time.
Do I need to put smaller or larger pilot jets?
I' going to ride in 0-800ft altitude and at min -25c temp.
Thanks

Does it have an abnormal bog? None of my 700 redheads had a "bog", they just had that burble at around 4-6000 rpm. Is that what you are talking about eliminating? If so the reed stopper notch will definately help, and a boost bottle might help clear a little of that up as well, although probably not as significantly as the stopper notch.

the dreaded burble.. i had an 01 MM7 and loved it! LOTS of room for improvement... lose the sway bar right away - that's a free mod that makes a world of difference. Go to snowest.com and there are libraries of great info on the MM. Good luck!
