Bender's web site has no info. Anybody have this in their sled. Is it a good mod? Is it expensive?
Thanks for any help.
Thanks for any help.
I'm thinking that it was $1300-$1600.

There have been a few posts on this. If you have'nt already, search the Viper forum under "bender reaction". G.B.

I had one ordered a couple years back, at that time it was $950.After 6-8 weeks of promises and no suspension they refunded my $100 deposit and I bought an m-10.I was quite eager to try that setup as were many others in my area, but our local yami/bender dealer could'nt deliver. At winters end they had received 1-2, but had to refund deposits to something like 15 customers, they just did'nt have there act together I guess.A couple guys on here who have them seem to like them.

Bender racing has regouped and restructured now owned by Dyno Port and relocated to the original Colden N.Y. location..I have access to 8 sets for the 121 skids: they inc 3 different versions of the penski racing shock, $1299 w/ single spring ,$1499 w/ multi rate springs, and $1799 for the remote rez w/ comp and rebound adj."Makes the ohlins look like a monroe damper".I took a spin on an SRX with the set up last winter. I can get pics and info if needed cell 716-818-1576 or gquintan@travelers.com 136 versions coming soon !
i would hate to be selling those for that price with the m10, m12, air wave, expert, and now the LEGO expert all being the same or better ride for same or better money
its too bad they hadnt come through with that skid back when they said they were. I think alot of people would have bought one. there was alot of talk from people waiting for people who bought them to give the review till they purchased. when that review and the skids never seemed to show up i think people just didnt want to waite any longer.
kinda like the old bender suspenion for the pogo sleds, they came out for more money than the m10 at the time and then kinda disapeared.
the question is, is there anyone out there that actually owns one of these??

Ya I know the company disapeared for a while and pissed off alot of loyal patrons ,but the individual responseable for that is history..Obviously there has been some serious damage done to the name .they have alot of work to do.
I guess the price of the shock is the huge difference, because the remote rez version cost is almost 800-900 "COST" I think.Cuz I questioned the price myself .The bender version has addressed many of down falls of the oe skid, the bracing reminds me of a pro x. I took an apex gt for a ride with the fat guy spring installed, the darn thing bottomed so hard I thought I was gonna break my back.I weigh 220 "dry" LoL
. the skid is also quite a bit lighter. the Fast inc skids ride over bumps great but at the expense of scrubbing off top speed and adding ski lift. My buddy had one in his viper for a few seasons.

Bump.
Anyone has this skid that can tell us if it's worth 1400$. I like the idea that's it only 11.7" of travel. Keeps the SRX looking stock.

Does anyone have any feedback on the ZX2 plastic suspension? The price is not too bad, but I'd sure like to know some more before slapping down the debt paper. G.
I have a bender monoshock in my 2003 ER Viper. I purchased the monoshock in 2005 for around $1100 and it has the penski shock in it. I like the way it performs, it is much better then the stock 2003 skid. My main problem with the stock skid was that on any thing bigger then a studder bump I would get springborded off the seat even with it set to the soft setting on the FRA. I have found the monoshock good in most conditions, but it was difficult to find the right ballence between ski pressure and track pressure with the limiter strap. It's a fine line between ski darting and the back end wanted to pass you. I never had a problem with bottoming out as most people do but I only weigh 165 lbs. My only real complaint with it is making adjustment to the shock dampener on the trails. It always gets packed with snow and ice and is damn near impossible to move once underway.
I also have a 2004 Viper S which I upgraded with Ohlins to the center and rear shocks. The S handles so much better then the ER with the monoshock that there is no compairson. The ER was suppose to be my wife's sled after I bought the S, but after one trip on the S she decided that it was hers.
I have a friend with a 2004 ER with a M-10. After riding all three I like the S with the ohlins the best followed by the M-10 and then the monoshock. So the best bang for the buck as far as I am concerned is to upgrade the two back shocks with ohlins.

Thanks kbknick for your honest review. I wonder if it would be the same on a lower SRX?
Which dealer did you get it from?

Have you ridden a new Monoshock RA? If you have, how do you feel that compares to the Ohlins? If not, please do and let me know what you think.
I have a 98MSRX and a used 136 monoshock RA sitting around that I've been daydreaming of marrying. I'm wondering if I shouldn't be looking at some TLC and upgrades to the 98 suspension? To my knowledge, from 97 on, they played around with the transfer rods and stuff, but the overall architecture is pretty much the same, not?
I used to love the SRX, but after riding the Monoshock RA, it just pales by comparison, the RA is best I've ridden so far. G.

I'm not sure how it would compair between the SRX and the Viper i guess it depends on what you are trying to acomplish with the monoshock.
I got mine directly from Bender after I talked to the guy at the snow expo here in NY.
I have ridden the Monoshock RA on my brother-in-laws Attack GT, but that sled is so different from the trailing arm sleds I couldn't begin to say how that would work in an SRX.
I believe you are correct about the spensions being similar from 97 on, we swapped the upper shock mount piece out of the spare parts from my 2003 viper into an 97 V-Max after one of the welds broke on the v-max.

Different sled to be sure, but the ride compared to the ohlins in the S, can't give me an idea?
Sweet ride that S, I've never even seen one in these parts. G.

I have a use re-action suspension that I will be installing soon. Would any of you know if I can and should put idler wheels inside the rails in the middle? I can't use the ones I have on the pro action since they have a full shaft and would interfere with the control rod.
When I look a monoshock pictures some has some and others don't?
Without inner idler wheels.
Top picture, with idler wheels.
Looks like my reaction had some before as the holes are used?
If I can and should put some which bracket from Yamaha should I get to hold them on the rails?

Sorry I don't have that info either. Perhaps you can contact Bender Racing.
