Are you guys sure your not talking about Reichards performance? I was on there website sometime in the last year and they hit the snowshows, there somewhere in northern wisconsin.Octane said:I dont know of any Richards Performance, so Im going to have to say they are no longer in business.
The guy who might be selling me the sled is on the fence about whether or not he should sell the sled. I can tell that he really likes the sled and doesnt really want to sell it, but he races motocross and wants to get a new YZ 450, so he wants the money. Im not really holding my breath, but if he does decide to sell it to me and the sled is mint like he says, I might take that deal. Im sure I could sell my Poo for $2000, so it would only cost me $500 tops.
Im still going to look around though. Who knows where they are good used Yammies out there and if worse comes to worse, I will just ride the Poo another year.
Its all good either way. Either Im back on a Yammie sled this winter or Im back behind the wheel of a Toyota next summer (planning to order an '09 Toyota Tacoma if I dont find a sled that fits my budget). Either way I will have a new riceburner to play with, so Im not going to be singing the blues regardless of what happens.
Thats what I told that guy who has the 600 at work. I told him, "if you wanna sell it to me, great. If you dont, thats cool too. I dont want you to feel pressured to to anything you dont wanna do."

The 600 triples are actually more like 102 h.p. The twins yamaha 600's were 96 h.p. or so.

Most of my riding is done on tight and twisty trails, and to be honest I almost never used all the power I have right now.BBlueSRX said:You might want to look into a 700 vs. the 600 redhead. I know that I would be giving up some performance with the SXr, but its honestly not that big of a deal. I mean, if I were all about top speed, I wouldnt be riding a 600 in the first place. 4 years ago I was riding a '90 Phazer II and was perfectly pleased with the power.
In any event, Im not getting the sled. The guy talked to me today and he said that he read in the Famer's Almanac that we are supposed to have a good winter this year with lots of cold and snow, so now he doesnt want to sell the sled. Whatever, no big deal. So, it looks like Im getting a new truck next spring. Wooooo-hooooo!
How much you wanna bet Im gonna laugh in this guy's face when he comes back and wants to sell the sled when we dont get a good winter or when spring rolls around and we wants to sell the sled because he wants the money to buy a new YZ 450 with?
I'll have me another Yamaha sled eventually. Either when I get the new truck paid off or when something major goes bad on the Poo and it costs more to fix than the sled is worth.

Yeah the most I can find on a dyno is 98 HP, and that is from Bender. They are pretty consistent stock at around 96 HP for the triple. And the 700 triple was right around 109-110. Regardless, good luck with the new truck.

Yeah, thanks. Its a Toyota though, so I dont think I will need much luck.
