1994 VMAX 600 - any problems??

I have had mine for almost 4 seasons now with the twins, the previous owner installed and jetted for the pipes and i must say I have never had a problem from the pipes, they do accelerate problems but i would have blown my engine with or without the pipes it would have just taken a little longer without. Setup is key, if you want to mess with the jetting and clutches go for it the power is AWSOME My dads is not pipped and i can't stand taking off as it feels like it dogs when the pipes kick in on mine 5700-7200 (35-roughly 72mph) To each their own.

Those 94-96 twins experience a real bad bog / deceptive lean spot around 5800-6200 RPM that you'll never tune out of it because it isn't carburetor related. It has something to due with the pipe and cylinder intake port combination/ intake tract resonance / port velocity...
If you happen to ride it maintaining in that RPM range (like in wet heavy snow) at part throttle, it induces detonation which takes out the piston ring land on the exhaust side real fast. The single pipe wasn't as pronounced as the twins, both have it though.
I am trying to alter my intake port / port area / newer cylinders to get rid of this because I like the power of the twins.
Bender Racing had told me a few years ago that they tested alot of twin pipes and seemed to get the best performance from the GYT's. That was their choice and that is what they sold / used.
