when using primary shims w/hc's does it change the spring rate enough to have to add weight or will it just increase engagement?
shims will raise engagement and end rpms up. what are you trying to do with them??(clickers)
Do not use shims with hc primary springs!!!!!!! If you need more engagement try a different spring; larger rollers or cut an engagement notch in em.
grass drag. i have 15 mm rolers and can only get 4800 out of it.BETHEVIPER said:shims will raise engagement and end rpms up. what are you trying to do with them??(clickers)
Are U using the red spring(highest engagement) You can cut out the pocket just below the heel for a higher engagement if you are allready doing everything else.

dont forget that the more weight you have in the heel of the weight, the lower the engagement(but more belt force).
I would not reccomend shimming a h/c spring as they work in a very small space and could easily cause it to spring bind. Usually you would run 15.6 rollers and this will raise up your engagement, if more is still desired then you need to grind a "notch" on the weights to help get the engagement up.
