hey guys i have been thinkin of geting a bender 4x4 and bender scilencer. for my 02 viper er good is there eny jeting involed with this pipe or clutch kit to go with the pipe. if so what would u guys recomend for it. and just wondering what r the gains with this pipe other then waight loss. thanks again guys.

If you're going to spend the money, have you thought about getting some triple pipes? You can find some used ones cheap on here.

I run the Bender 4X4 and SLP can. This set up sheds LOTS of weight and sounds GREAT! The key is to make sure that you have a thick ceramic coating to keep the heat in the pipe or you'll lose some RPM's. You don't need to do anything special to your clutch or jetting with this set up, but it never hurts to check both.

You'll get all kinds of responses on whether you get any power gains or not. If you want power, go tripples. If you want to dump some weight, do what you're thinking.

I agree...................spend some more money and buy some triples. Your almost half way there. I have bender triples put on last year and love them. I jetted to what Bender reccomends and no problems! Awesome pull!

what do you have for a cluch kit and trak and studs to hook up. and do u have eny sound clips or pics u could post for me to here and see plz and thanks man.

My thoughts are leave the exaust stock and spend the money on some clutching. I have an aftermarket can (MBRP) and to get it to run right rpm wise I had to put 2 layers of exhaust header wrap on it. So it went from 10lb savings to 6lb. I have also been out sledding with people that have been given a hard time about their exhaust. Best bang for the buck mods I have done yet are cluching it and torque limiter.(136" was for fun ;))

so what kinda clutch kit did u put in it and what does it cost for it. and woudl it be a good i dea to do the forsd air mod to the forsed air vents in the hood so it goes the the air box insted going under th hood it dont seem hade to do.

Hey Yammyhamer...I've been watching this thread and was gunna add some stuff
and then Mtn-track kinda said exactly what I was thinking...
Some people like triples..others are trying to make do with what they have..each to their own..and since my area doesn't permit "piping"...I'm into trying different things aswell.. so basicaly I agree with "mtn-track" and "kirkswim"...
I did the torque limitor last year along side transfer rods...knowing that I'll be doing my clutching this year alongside taking off some weight..I also did the air mod...personally I can't say it did anything..except give me the fear on super cold days...From what I was told...the stock air mod builds pressure inside the hood and forces air inside the airbox...THe mod that I did does redirect the air into the airbox..but I also think it adds more air pressure under the hood and kinda slows the machine down like adding a parachute...basically I didn't notice any speed difference from the year before(I also added a lower windshield)...
However...I did notice a difference with the torque limitor and transfer rods...I'm hoping to up the ante and do the clutch upgrade aswell as rotating weight loss...
If I can find a 4x4 and SLP used or cheap...I'm gunna try what MTN-track did..yes its frowned upon in our area.but I think that set up might match stock sound decibals..so maybe I can squeek by...
But yeah..I'd totally suggest Clutching(MrViper700 or turks setups), Limiter and t-rods if you can get em for starters...from there...start the diet with the 4x4 etc...

cheers

kirkswim's clutching specs are in the lower part of his post. i am his brother and i know that that clutching really woke up his viper. turk is the one that steered him to that set-up.

primary weights came from roayal distributing. the helix is an advantage whitch you can get through your dealer most likely. i know we can get it through sudbury cycle as advantage does not sell direct to customer anymore.

ya man thanks i allso work at a yamaha dealer so i get evrything at coast in cluding my sled and eny accesories and what kinda t-rods u uesing on ur viper and price. id like to get some for my viper im gona order the toruq limiter to it. thanks for all the help guys enything els u can sujest to me for modes on my viper as in looks like light covers and what kinda windy iv been looking for a very low windy for it.

if your on a budget start with a 53/43 and green secondary spring 70deg and torque limiter. then buy a new 9830 track and skis. I would invest money in a track before you even think about pipes.

ok man thanks for the info but i think we might have one siting around at the shop i could pick up for ceap and i have a totaly scraped ripswa siting in my garage with 144 1.6 woodys in it

If you go with bender pipes, (or any tripple pipes) you will have to send the head to them to have the compression evened out and lowered. They know what to do. I just had mine done and its on the way back. They are also sending the proper jetting and gaskets. If you don't already have a rear heat exchanger you will need one. The clutching will also have to be set up for the pipes. Mr viper and Turk know what to do, along with others i'm sure. Don't ask me about clutching. Good luck.
