I have a 2000 SRX mostly trail ride three to four times a year averaging 150 miles a day. My question is I want to try heel clicker set up for an SRX in the tech page. Is the heel clicker weight durable enough for everyday trail riding or mainly for racing?

Thanks!

Check your belt frequently & if you see any fraying; change it immediately. For trail riding it is generally fine. If your doing a lot of racing; testing & tuning it decimates belts very quickly from heat but fine for general trail riding.

May I ask why the heel clickers?? I have used the simple clutch set up Turk recomended a few years back on my wifes 99 and it pretty deadly for every day stuff. Some simple changes can make a big difference

black1000 if you don't mind me asking, what was her set up? I've been reading what I can to find a place to start. It seems there are so many options. Did you put more power down low/mid? Thanks, Jeff

Just because it was the latest set up on the tech page and heard great things about it. Also, thinking about the simple advent edge helix setup. I had an SXR with Turk's setup and it was the best thing I ever did to that sled.

Thanks!

I myself had a 01 SRX7 and i tried everything to make that thing go. I never ever could get that thing over 172 on the speedo. Now I am a little larger than your average guy but we threw everything at the clutching with the same results. Got rid of the sled as it was very dissapointing to me. Traded for my 03 RX1. I asked Turk about clutching for the 99 SRX7 I picked up for my wife. He suggested that I get 8DN20 weights and pound 4.5g in each hole. Then get a 51/43 yamaha helix and green secondary spring wound to 60. Now last year I took hers for a spin for sh*ts and giggles and in a very very short time i was over 185 on the speedo and it had some left. Now between her and her sled weighing so much less then me I had to put filters and clutching and N2O on my 03 just to stay ahead.

But remember this set up is Turks and he never tests anything LOL

that is almost the same set up I had in my sxr minus the 8dn 20s. I was told not to run the 51\43 helix in my srx because it would over rev alot. the advant edge helix Is supposed to work real well but is very hard to find. that is why I was looking into the heel clickers set up

I was told by A dealer that the 51/43 is to shallow for the 8dn-20s in A srx I do not know this for sure I was told this

51/43 works better in a 98-99. The 00-02,s make more power & can pull a steeper helix. U can make either helix work with some fine tuning so there is no really wrong answer. Great trail set up.

Turk i was baseing my statements on that for the most part you use the primary to control RPM's and use helix angles and spring wind for shift rates. I do also believe that you could use either helix and fine tune the primary to meet RPM requirements

Use a 54/42 if you are under 200# use a 54/40 if you are over 200#. Set the spring at 3/3 keep every thing else the same, you will be very happy. The helix I sell are the Micro-Belmont. If you have any more questions give me a call @847-344-1457
