L to R & T to B...ground down & a few washers. They fit back nice & flush. When inserting shocks, the "new" mount angles the shock more to the rear causing it to miss the bottom mount. I can easily make it fit. Now that I look at the top fitment...will this cause any odd wear in the top shock bushing/collar? Seems to be done enough on here...any issues. Thanks, Fro.
I bought a set of SS ones for the purpose, and if I remember the one hole was slotted to allow you to get the correct angle fore/aft. Lots of versions of mounts around, I think the Sno-Tek ones are the nicest version made, they also have 3 angle adjustability in/out.

do those brackets work with viper shocks and how much$

Marty those brackets will not work with the Viper "clevis" style shocks. Made for stock type KYB's or Ohlins. They are 36.99 I believe.

FRO......I also was in the same situation as you were.Just pulled the shock in to line it up,and there is some twisting of the bushing on top.Should still be good to go.
Marty they raise the front of the sled up, and when going to a wider front end, you alter the angle of the shocks sideways, with these mounts you have someadjsutability to bring the shock back to the more original vertical position. The more you lay the shock down on it's side so to speak, the softer acting it becomes because it is stroking less as the sled moves.

I got the brackets to fit flush, then istalled the shocks. I needed to take out some more material on the bracket. It was hitting at the top of the spring...not now. Fits better, no need to force it. I'll still watch the top shock bushing/collar for wear tho.
How's that beast look now that you have the suspension in and the shock mount swap done? I bet you'll be itching for the snow to come now!!Fro said:I got the brackets to fit flush, then istalled the shocks. I needed to take out some more material on the bracket. I'm just waiting for the small wheel kit and wheel spacer kit from Pioneer and then I'll be starting the work on mine.

There is a definite difference it it's stance. My original shock were pretty trashed...original owner= big guy & zero maintenance.
I put the larger Poo wheels on. $$ wise it was a wash with the spacer kit, but some of the idlers were chiped up & needed replacing. Thinking of about the small wheel kit also. Need to figure out the tension issue first.
Have fun with the mods.
I started out thinking that I would go that route too but I was having trouble finding used Polarass wheels, so I figured I'd go the wheel spacer route as I'll have all the spare wheels from my SRX skid if I ever need them.Fro said:There is a definite difference it it's stance. I would make it a point to check all the skid bushings if you pull it. BTV has that link about it. I had to read it a few times with it all out. All of mine had worn thru at 1400 miles. The previous owner didn't help that, but even the ones that had no grease fittings were gone.

That's good advice!! I checked out the Viper suspension after I got it and all looked good, later while reading all the info on here I printed out BTV's suspension tune up and went back out to the garage to give it a second looksee. After some twisting and poking I discovered all the bushings were indeed very worn and the entire suspension was pretty sloppy!!! I'm not finished fixing all the problems yet but I've got it about half done at least.

That's good. One more problem to iron out & I'm done for now. Once we get into the season I'm going to do some clutch work. I need to take a break for abit. This is all pretty new to me & I'm sure I've worked 5 times as hard as I had to at every task. I will get around to posting some pics later. I did alot of cosmetic work from previous owners neglect. It looks quite abit better. Can't wait to just ride.
Hopefully you can get the noise issue figured out, I wonder if it's just the track hitting at the front of your skid and gets worse when you romp on it on the grass. Perhaps if you check under the tunnel to see where it's hitting and then shave the part on the lugs that's rubbing, then try it on the grass again to see if the noise is still there?Fro said:That's good. I've been itching to get started on mine but I'm trying to hold off until I get all my parts so I don't have it all apart in my garage any longer than I have to.
While researching SRX suspension stuff [till my eyes started to bleed], I stumbled onto a "how-to" on adjusting my power valves, so I'm kinda excited to get working on that too, maybe I can find some free horsepower!
