I had a 99 SRX 700 and loved it but all of my buddys had zr 600's and mxz 670's and were having a little more fun than me in the horribly whooped out trails of Kalkaska area that winter. When I heard of the new ZR 800 with powervalves I ordered it immediattely. Ever since then I have had many other lightweight twins including the F7 Im on right now. I really miss my SRX though and have been pondering finding a nice 01 or 02 with low miles. This F7 is very fast and really light but corners like shit and is out of warranty and I refuse to own a cat thats out of warranty anymore. Will the SRX not seem as fast as I remembered after having an F7 efi for 2 years now? Will the weight of the tripple get old really quick? I dont bash the rough trails nearly as much as I use to and frankly a rough trail is a rough trail regardless of what you ride. Any thoughts here????
BTW, I was planning on picking up a 08 Nytro FX for $9500 otd but money is a little tight so I thought I would hold off especially since there are so many good deals on leftovers right now.

From a race last year with an 06 F7 it pulled slightly on my stock SRX. Maybe if i had mine clutched it would of been even or pulled a bit.

I am going through the same now. I just sold mine and now in the market for another sled. I had my eye set on the Rev because of the bumps the past couple years. But after much talk here sounds like a stock SRX will pull on the 800 Rev so that axed the idea of the Rev. I started looking at the F8 and 9's but people said the relability is bad on those. Should of kept the SRX with an M-10 suspesion. I want more power than I had with the SRX but something that is light and handles well in the bumps. I also looked at the Nytro but too much cash with the snow we have been getting around here.

I know that this isnt a cat forum but instead of complaining that it handles like shit why not do something about it?? I own an 04f7 and with small adjustments it outhandles my previously owned srx's, which I too miss very much, on flat trails and through the whoops (obviously on that one, srx owners you know what I mean!!!)

I knew I would miss my 01 SRX if i sold it so i kept it,and I am going to keep my 02 viper. I just love my 700 triples i guess, the new 4-strokes are allright but I don't think i will ever buy one again still to HEAVY in my opinion, thats the main reason I sold my 06 Apex GT,and i rode a 08 Nytro RTX last year and it still felt real heavy to me. I guess I will just keep my 01 and 02 up and running

Know how you feel dude...had a 98 600 srx and loved that sled....pulled hard for a 600 for sure. Everytime i rode it i felt at home. The only reason i got rid of it i had a dealer service it and forgot to hook up the ani-freeze lines to the carb right and it all drained out and over heated....man was i over heated...ended up with a 02 viper, great sled not my srx tho....so i picked up a apex..now this thing is fun! Just for the hell of it i picked up some old iron, 92 vmax4..cant wait to beat it!

I had a 99 SRX700C and My friend totalled it.. I made an asphalt sled out of it and ran TENS at the dragstrip with it....If I bought another SRX , I would probably get a 2002!!!!!

I HAVE A 2000 SRX I BOUGHT NEW AND A 2002 SRX I BOUGHT NEW. WON,T PART WITH THEM. MATTER OF FACT I ADDED THE 01 SRX DARK WINDSHIELD TO MY 00 AND IT LOOKS AWSOME. THING I DO NOTICE NOW IS MOST OF THE SRX,s OUT THERE ARE FALLING WAY OFF THE PERFORMANCE LEVEL THESE SLEDS WERE CAPABLE OF. GUESS ITS CASE OF OLD NEWS NOW. ANOTHER THING I SEE IS ALOT HAVE ADDED THE M-10. THIS WILL BE ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREAT SNOWMOBILES. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Never had one before. Never know what the next project sled could be for next year. Maybe a srx. All I hear about these sleds are how they are missed. Were they really that good? I had a modified sxr700 that would hang with these sleds, sort of. lol Any similarities between the two?

SXR700 was a single pipe motor with no powervalves - sled had a couple more inches of travel - nice sleds (my wife has one) but no match for the SRX - I have three SRX's and will never be without one - too much of a fun factor - I find it funny how when the SRX's were new, no one would acknowledge them and how fast they were - now you have guys bragging about beating them with Mach 1000's and F1000's!?!?!? - properly tuned and set up they are one bad a*s sled!!!

Sweet. My sxr was pumping out around 145ish hp. It was a fun sled. I know the shock travel was a bit better, I may have to hunt down one of these sleds ( srx ) for next years project.

I might sell one of mine next year - none of them have more than 1500 mile on them and my 01 only has 300 miles - 145hp on that SXR is pretty respectful - I would think you would hang with a well set up SRX - let me know if you ever come to the U.P. and we can line em up!!!

Poor handling is only 1 reason and I would be VERY surprised if I could ever make my F7 corner as well as my stock 99 SRX did.

my nytro right out of the box handled terrible but after a little tweaking i love how it handles, point is buy blue but i would atleast try to get the sled setup properly.

A few years ago i bought myself a nice 01 srx and loved it.I liked it so much i bought my wife a mint 02 srx 700 a few weeks later.Winter came and went and i traded both sleds for a 2003 R1 sportbike which was awsome. After countless tickets i sold the R1 in the fall. When winter came i bought a 99 mach z which never ran right and blew up on my first sled trip.I parted the mach z out and bought a 2000 arctic cat 440 sno pro. That sled blew up the very first time i rode it(circlip fell out and wrecked the cylinder, head, piston)sold it and lost my *** on that sled. Now,i bought another 01 srx with 2900 miles and im more excited to ride this year than ive been in a while.Im looking for a real nice 01 or 02 srx for the wife and this time i'll never sell them.
