'02 viper, I need to install engine torque limiter. Isn't there a couple of different styles? Which one works better, and where should I get it?

You can get an srx one, or I believe SLP might have one as well (and would be adjustable if they do).

Yeah...I agree with the above..installed my Yamaha Torque/Limitor last year...I was worrying about realighnment etc..what a sinch...and yes..you can feel a subtle difference in performance...now I can add mods or other without breaking motor mounts...yaaay..

goodluck..

only use the srx style yamaha one, the others dont last. yamaha sells them in the accessory catalogue for 40$

They are in the 2011 Accessory catalog, however they are backordered right now... i've heard rumors they may or may not be discontinuing it.

well wtf. I'm having a hell of a time getting one new or used. only one on ebay right now is not a complete kit. I just extracted a broken bolt on my front engine mount and got a new one in, i really don't want to do any riding until I get a limiter on the sled.

Just look for srx on ebay not sxviper I just bought two for my 04 and my old ladys 02 ,should be here soon .

yeah i'd been searching that way. I think you guys had been buying them up before I could lol. Anyways I just located a dealer that had one in stock a few hours from me, just paid over the phone and they are shipping it to me. So who knows if they are just backordered right now or what, but best lf luck to everyone else hunting for one.

bought mine from hauckpowersport, When i recive it was all OEM part all bolt washer bushing everypart was in individual bag whit yammi partnumber on in for 40$

Does this torque limiter from the SRX fit the Viper if the sled is fitted with Electric start ??

What is the best way to get the engine sit still in an VIPER with electric start ??

Different motor mounts ?

Or what ??

I'm trying to learn as much as possible about the VIPER sleds !!

Use the SRX dogbone style torque limiter on your viper. Bulkhead and engine are already drilled for it. That SRX motor mount helps also but it will not fit with e start. Both my vipers have e start and limiters installed. CCC

What about harder motor mounts ?
..And is there any around ?

I'm sure you could make somthing, but IMO the torque limiter alone is enough for most sleds out there.

i just bought a torque limiter for my estart viper from hauck powersports....20 bucks and its adjustable i didnt think that was bad...i think i coulda made it for less but w/e.....im wondering how much play there is in the motor mounts to get the right clutch alignment before i put the limiter on? idk how far out they are yet but im pretty sure they are out cuz i blew up a gates extreme belt that had less than 500 miles on it last year
