I have a 97 600 SX twin that I think had a ring spin and catch the exhaust port. I spent the time and money to rebuild the engine. I ended up swapping out the jug with one that was re-nikasiled. After all that I rode about 15 miles and loss of compression. I tore into this summer and the same thing the ring caught on the exhaust port.
I purchased another sled in the mean time due to a great deal on a 99 SRX 700. I still like my 600SX because it was piped, clutched and a lot lighter than the SRX.
My question is now that I know that it was probably ring spin that caused both of these failures. What can I do? Is there a fix for ring spin. I worried that if I put the thing back together again or have someone else do it the same thing will happen. Any ideas?
Thanks
