Reasons for middle cylinder burndown....

Update.......

It's alive, I cleaned the carbs and jetted it up. I'm running a 155 on the PTO/CENTER, and a 157.5 on the MAG. Never found a reason for the lean condition, but this jetting has the plugs looking good. I'm going riding on Sunday to basically test/tune. Plug chops and a few peeks at the piston wash.

I'm going to get a few miles on it before I worry about the RPM's. I did get a new belt for it, maybe that will help it considering that my current spare won't let me rev over 7500.

wowwww that motor is not stock for sure lolll those are big jet

It's stock beside reeds and the airbox. It ran real clean up top for my first throttle chop. No bogging at all. Is this an outrageously rich main setup or somewhat normal?

I'm at 300+feet bove and it was 12* when testing.

not overly large for a gutted airbox and a cold air kit if it has it. i would be a little suspect to the needle settings though, 99 percent of the time your gonna burn down a engine on the needles, right when you come off wide open, the needles shut off the fuel, and if they are lean, mr. squeeky will visit you.

Not sure about the cold air kit, from reading a few posts I've read something about a modified dash...Mine is stock. The airbox is drilled up and the front of it has 2 2"x4" openings with some kind of phelt filter. I'll be testing the midrange on Sunday. The sled "sounds'' numb in the midrange, but when you give it the gas it leaps. Atleast the needles are easy to get too.

I put 60 miles on it Sunday, it was 2* again. The same temp it burnt down at. I did a comp test the day before, and pto was 138, center was 140 (new), and mag was 138. I let the sled warm up for 10 minutes or so and then away I went. Checked the plugs after some light cruising, they looked good. I then did a midrange check and hit the kill, plugs looked great. Next was the WFO check. Held it for a good 5 seconds, hit the kill, checked the plugs. PERFECT. These mains are 155/155/157.5, on a stock bore srx with just a gutted airbox and Vforce reeds.

Sled ran flawless the whole time and was dead even with my bud's 02 ZR800 at a roll of 35mph...I only held it for 3-5 seconds at most. Next is my clutching as I was only pulling 8k. Another 4/500 rpm's and that CAT will be eatin' YAMMI flap. We got back that night and did another comp test and found the same results...138/140/138. I'm going to give it another 150-200 miles before I mess w/ the clutching and get it right. It's Alive!!!!!!!

"ready to ride"...Good to hear...put a few miles like you said before messing with it...cheers
