hey, I just picked up an 01 srx 700 and was looking for some clutching ideas. We do tons of lake racing when we go up north. Any ideas for what kind of weight i should be running in the prim. I was told to run a 50 angle helix?? Thanks for any help.

Are you looking for just lake racing or some trail too.
It all depends on how much you want to spend or beat your buddies.
If you willing to spend the money.I had ecllent result with heel clickers so have other members on here they have some great set ups. Or you could save some money and use yamaha oem products which will be fast just not as fast. The heel clickers have excllent back shift for trails too.

I want to burn them good. Faster the better. I will trail alot too. Is there a heel clicker kit or just components?

No just heel clicker weights it comes with springs. They are about 215.00 and then you need a helix.I ued on the trail a 50-36 dalton some use 50-38.
I would go with mico belmont there a lot cheaper and dalton and micro are real comparable on there angles.I had to add alot of weight with the 50-36 I would go with a 50-38.Once you gewt the stuff we can tell you what to adjust.
Rich motorsports on here carries heel clickers.

We run 120 with our set up all you need is a 54/42 helix if you are under 200# and a 54/40 if you are over. The helix is $98.00 plus shipping. When you put the new helix in set it at 3-3 RED spring all the other parts are stock.
If you would like to talk about the set up give me a call 847-662-5916.

2000srx,......Oh really? will out run any h/c set up?? I think thats a pretty bold statement and a very incorrect one. Top 127mph from a stock sled and then youll be out running a h/c set up.

I concur with Don. Lots of guys don,t know how to properly tune up. I get great top end with hc,s in any sled I have owned/clutched! Just gotta know how to properly set em up.

Don, do you have to criticize everything on this site just because it is not what you are familar with? I am trying to give a general setup that works exceptionally well for majority of sleds and is easy on budget. Not everyone is a supertuner like you and know exactly how to tune in weights on clutches in order to make it perform well. I cannot say I have gotten 127 on an srx and I would also love to be a fly on the wall to see that one. Our srx has done a 123mph with a raised front and rear suspension running stock engine and chaincase and all with that clutch recommendation we offered.

I LOVED THE 8BU. I THOUGHT THERE WAS NOT A BETTER SET-UP FOR ANY SRX. I HAVE A 2000 AND A 2002. AND YOU GUYS KNOW IT. 8BU-00, 51-43 HELIX ,GREEN SECONDARY SPRING, I USED IN MY PRIMARY WITH THIS SET-UP A SPRING THATS NOT MENTION MUCH IS THE SRX-WHITE SPRING THAT CLOSED MAXXIMUM PERFORMANCE SOLD. WHAT A GREAT SET-UP. MATTER OF FACT, I POSTED IT HERE TIME AND TIME. WELL FINALLY DON, ALLEN, RYAN, AND MIKE FINALLY TALKED ME INTO JUST TRYING HEEL CLICKERS. WELL THEY ARE STILL IN MY SRX. WHY WOULD ANYBODY RUN ANYTHING ELSE !!!!! JUST THE TUNEING OPTIONS ALONE WITH THESE WEIGHTS IS WORTH IT. THE ONLY THING I RECOMEND IS CHANGEING OUT EVERY YEAR THAT BIG TALL RED CLICKER SPRING. OTHER WISE YOU WILL FLY WITH HEEL CLICKERS. THANKS PRO116 ! 3:16 (yammie tony)

Bruce, I didnt type the statement, you did...............!
The guy asking the question was given incorrect information by yourself, there wasnt any critizing going on, if there was youd know it.
Sure theres lots of ways to clutch, no doubt, but to make a flat out statement you can out run any h/c set up is wrong and false. I assume you have just never taken the time to tune in a set of h/c's. Also, I need not prove anything to you, I really dont lose any sleep worrying about what you think of me. I am just helping others who ask for help. You and your son want to throw jabs at me then private message me and ask me for porting specs and how much to cut your heads, how to get more power...LOL not in this lifetime..........

Don,
My sled runs fine. If a person just wants to buy a helix, what I told them will work well. Not everyone wants to go 127. Sleep well.

I am sure it will work well with a helix/ change, like I said theres lots of ways to clutch a sled, heck the 8dn20's with (2) 4.5 gram rivets, a w/w/w/ spring and a helix change performs great for a trail sled, its also cheap to do. Worked alot with stock stuff before as has Turk from here. Stock stuff can perform in the right combination of parts together.
It was just the part about saying it "will outrun "any" heel clicker set up" where I think the wrong information was given. Not really any weight out there other then the h/c's-supertips that can apply the amount of squeeze to the belt like they can.
Tony-yammiegod:316, had to be the hardest sale ever on using weights other then 8bu's.....he wouldnt even try something else because it was in his mind that it couldnt improve any. Sometimes we need to stray into unchartered waters and really try something new thoroughly before we can vote it a "NO"!

JUST LIKE DON SAYS, SHURE CAN,T BE AFRAID TO ATLEAST TRY DEFFERENT THINGS. NOBODY OUT THERE MORE STUBBORN THAN ME. AND I SAID 8BU WILL KICK THE CRAP OUT OF HC!! BRUCE, IF YOU ASKED ME WHATS BEST SET-UP IN A VMAX 4, NO DOUBT THE 8BU, NOTHING EVEN CLOSE. BUT SAW JOSH MINOR USEING BENDER ADJUSTABLE WEIGHTS IN HIS THAT WORKED AWSOME. JUST A EXAMPLE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

bruce, you are right!! a simple way to make a srx fly and have a guy spend a lot on money. in the pick was a speed sheve and a 54-42 dalton and that is it?? at 1600ft elavation!! otis res!!

JUST LIKE WHAT TYLER HERE HAS POSTED, LOOK AT THAT RADER SHOT. EVERYBODY HAS THEIR OWN IDEA,S AND OPINONS ON WHAT WORKS. YOU HAVE TO USE THE SET-UP YOU THINK WORKS BEST. GOT TO TRY THINGS. ONLY WAY YOU WILL KNOW. 3:16 (yammie tony)
