I've seen them run 122's on radar with about 3000' of running on the ice on our radar gun. They go pretty good as a stock sled.

when you guys say "stock", are you referring to stock as in driven off the showroom floor stock, or stock with minor modifications suck as clutching, lowering suspension, gearing, etc.? I think this may cause some confusion and was just curious.
I raced 2 of them last year on the lake, one stock, nothing done but studs, other one was clutched, something done to air box- intake I dont remember. my son and I were on the lake testing some stuff and they came over and lined up with my kid on my 01 srx, reeds, mrviper clutching,220 studs stock track, they raced, my kid beat him start to finish. my kid said it was close till 85 to 90 and from there he pulled 5 sled links. I was lmao but not out loud. so then the other mach z1000 came over after talking with his budy and he wanted to race me not my son, so I jumped on my srx and raced him, same results, just less links on top. we even raced from roll ( like 50mph cause he said he was spining, Ithink not) I pulled away hard. needless to say they were pissed, they said the sled was ported and big bored ect, ect, so then they wanted to race my other sled, I said sure me or my son, they said me. I forgot to tell them my other sled was a 780,ported, bored carbs, steal picks hooks realy hard. we lined up I told him to go when ever he was ready.I beat him pretty good. about 6 to 7 sled links at 100mph. he turned off the ice road we were on. by the time I got back they were gone. I asked my son if they said anything to him he said no but he could tell he was not happy. we seen them 2 weeks after that and they still were not very happy about that day I even came clean and told them that one of the sleds was a 780.. he said theres noway a stock srx could beat his mach z 1000.. i asked if he wanted to race again he said no its not stock. I said I would trade his 200cc for my clutching and reeds any day. whatever, was his come back.
sorry the story got a little long, but it was fun day on the lake. (forest lake mn.)

I had a similar run in with a couple mach z`s, 2003 and 2004, and i was running my old red head single pipe. Boy do they get pissed when they lose and i lift the hood to prove it`s only a single piper.

I beat a bone stock 05 Z with no studs and that crappy track they come with up to 50 and then he pulled on me hard and would have blown past me....had it not been for a little red button....
Brand bashing aside they are fast and 172 hp is no joke. My rx is of course underclutched for the bottle but I don't think a stock one would keep up, SRX's probably have the best chance. I can appreciate nice sleds and the Z's are nice 20 mpg trail riding and have some really long legs on the lakes 118 mph is the offical claim of ski doo I think.

That was great! BB or not, way to go!
I raced a few 800HOs last year and they too were a little pissed after I open the hood and they saw I'd beaten them with a single pipe. Only come back they had was that I'd pimped my sled cause I polished the belt cover and heat shield. Give me a break.
I also got to race a couple of 1000cc that same day. One was an 07 Mach Z, the other was an 06 Attack. Both beat me easily off the line and on the top end. Overall the Z was faster then the Attack. I'm going to race them again this year after I put the triple pipes on. Should be a closer race anyway.

Hey don't give them TOO much credit, those Mach Z's dont get 20mpg trail riding. They get good mileage for their engine size but not any 20mpg.
