My wife and I went to Frankenmuth (Michigan) all day Sunday. When we got home last night about 8 PM I found I had a "successful day hunting." LMAO -----I got a 5-Point Buck!
This Buck was laying out in the front yard- right next to my driveway!! I thought it may have been hit by a car but upon closer inspection we could see it had been wounded - shot with an arrow - and it had not been there long. My son drove by my house at 6:30 and it was not there then. YEEEE HAAAA! Venison headed to my freezer, practically delivered to my door (within 50 feet anyway). No, there wasn't a "packing slip" stuck to him!

LOL!! do you have to take it and tag it in Michigan too? In Ohio youd have to tag that and that would be your only buck allowed for the year, but I would tag that under my wifes name...LOL!!!
Thats just too cool, nice gift someone left by being irresponsible and not tracking the game they hunted.

Thanks for the comments. I called the County Sheriff and they came to the house and gave me a "Permit to Possess" and then I took it to the processor. It'll be in my freezer/on my grill by Saturday!
2007 is winding up to be a very good year. Now all we need is the mother-of-all snowstorms and cold temps to keep in around for 6 months.

Yep all depends where the buck was shot. Lung/Heart there should have been a diff. blood trail as long as the arrow went all the way throw. Gut shot with no snow on the ground will be one hell of a task to track.
Curious what are you getting charged for having the deer processed???? Fore warning to all Michigan deer hunters that have there deer processed make sure your getting your backstraps and tenderloins out of your deer. Alot of processers here in Michigan have been scamming people out of there meat esp. backstraps and tenderloins. If your a regular avid hunter Id suggest learning how to butcher it yourself, its really not hard just time consuming but it saves you $$$.

If you can take your time and cut out the T-loins before letting someone cut it up for you, That way you have something good to eat in the meantime.

Huh? Permit means "license", which means "permission to do something otherwise normally illegal." "Illegal" being "colour-of-law" public policy, i.e. that which has the appearance of law, BUT WHICH IS NOT LAW. Public policy only applies to "persons" which are defined as "corporations". Funny, in the pic you like a MAN and not a corporation!? I don't ask SERVANTS for PERMISSION to do jack! Congrats on the food landing on your doorstep. Too bad you believe that you must ask an ACTOR's "character" (agent for a thing) for the "things" (the STATE) permission. Blessings. G.

Gorkon, we have the same thing here in Ohio, to have a wild animal in your possession you need to either tag the animal with a deer tag(hunting permit) or a slip from the police or other law enforcement agency (traffic deer/car hits or other)to be able to take the animal to get the meat processed, otherwise it is illegal to be in possession of a state animal, and the place processing the deer can not do it. All wildlife(dead or alive) is the property of the state which it is in, until it is tagged or otherwise made legal with a permit.

It was either get a permit... or risk a major fine if I got caught. I could have bought a "kill tag" but the Sheriff gives me a "tag" for free.
$70 for processing here. I know the guy very well so I'm sure I am getting all my deer back.

I understand what you're saying and why you did what you did, or rather why you believed you had to do what you did. Just trying to provoke some thought and dispel popular myths, as; (a) Flesh and blood cannot be property of a thing, i.e. THE STATE! (b) They're not "law" enforcement agencies, they're POLICY enforcement agencies, and, last but not least (c), Anyone, especially public servants that attempt to levy fines etc., I go after them for a true bill, because in commerce, the one who creates a liability, MUST bring the remedy!!! Which is the charge, which is the BILL, which is the CHECK! This must be the ORIGINAL BLUE INKER! If you go look at your Law of Negotiable Instruments Act, you will find that if you write on the original ticket, "Accepted for Value" and sign it, ITS PAID because your signature IS the money! Try it with your next traffic ticket or IRS remittance voucher, I do this all of the time. If they don't settle it, you can report them to the Securities Commission for misuse, or rather THEFT of securities and do a host of other things including levying their public liability insurance because they are commiting fraud!!!! Liquidate just one of the servants for a few mil and they will never bother you again. Take the republic back from the servants, take back your freedom. Maybe one day, you'll get sick and tired of being sick and tired and wake up from the matrix brothers. Like I said, I don't ask servants for permission to do jack, I live as a free-man-on-the-land, and they know to leave me alone! It irks me that the servants have the people fooled into believing that they must ask for permission to do things on their own land with their own property! The deer is already yours, it NEVER belonged to the servants or your company (THE STATE) despite what propaganda they have written to the contrary. Whatever they have written, without exception applies to "persons", not men and women!
Sorry for the download, but I'm hoping that maybe I will have provoked some thought here with someone, someplace, and they will investigate and find the truth to set themselves free as well and make use of their newly freed up funds to improve their lives, and their Yamahas! Peace. G.

Sausage
If you want some good sausage or sticks made talk to Les Dowker in Gaylord on Old 27. He's the man! Even if your in the area this winter you should stop by and get some bacon or sausage. You won't be disappointed. Or go to http://www.spiderwebranch.com/index.html. I believe you can shoot a 110 class buck for $900. Don't quote me. I've been to the spiderweb ranch before, it's pretty cool getting so close to the animals.
