wooohooooo we can buy at a great price in us :-)))
This past weekend one of the guys from the Ski-Doo camp was telling me that one of his buddies had taken a road trip to the U.S. to pick up a new sled. After talking to the salesman and picking out his new snowmobile he proceeded into the office to pay for it but when the dealer discovered he was from Canada they said " Sorry we are not allowed to sell to anyone from Canada!"
They went on to explain that they were told by BRP that their dealer license would be pulled if they sold to Canadians

That is some what true. But the Dealerships should have no problem selling a sled that has been run on the jackstand for 1mile or km and selling the unit as a used sled.. There is ways around it.

What a load of bull. No one can get the better of the mighty american dollar. If old Bushy wasn't such a tool, maybe their dollar would still be trading at a decent level. Canadians get a chance to take advantage of a weak USD to import products at a reasonable price for a change and what happens? .................SORRY we don't want to you because we like to rape our friends to the north. What difference does it make to a dealer? They are still making the same sale. Problem is the customer is paying about 25% less south of the border. That is 25% less going into the US automaker's pocket. Boils my urine. Not to mention what it's doing to the cost of raw materials and Canada's manufactured exports. Anyway I'm done.

What a load of bull.A customer is a customer is a customer.Who cares where they are from. What is the mater with this world. When the dollar was the other way,and I mean way over the other way,a lot of people North of the border were buying a lot here. Now that we are a little over the other way(not a huge amount compared when we were paying $1.40 to the US dollar),we are not allowed to purchase certain items. What about common sense and let people decide where they would like to purchase. The companies are still making a sale one way or another.SHEESH!!!!!

Funny how it seemed to be fine when the Americans were heading up here a few years back and purchasing cars when our dollar was only at $0.60. It was ok then, and it's not ok to have the roles reversed? It is quite poor in my eyes. Bombardier is a Canadian company, and they don't want Canadians purchasing their goods in the US? The auto companies are the same. There used to be a thing called free trade, that seems to be dissappearing because the our economy is booming. The prices of goods........any goods for that matter.......don't add up. Goods are still WAY more expensive to purchase in Canada for no reason. The values worked out fine back when the dollar was poor, but now that it has changed, the pricing is not reflecting the dollar value. The costs are still 30 or 40% higher than the US. We Canadian consumers are being gouged royally by the sales industry. And, of course the government won't step in because they take a percentage of our purchases in taxes, so the more the goods cost, the more they make. Just like gas. We can't win.
well just make sure the warranty are good in canada if u buy in us... if u buy a car in us the warranty will be cancell ........ its sucksssssssssss

NO, this is not a skidoo issue, yamaha canada is also way over priced compared to the us prices, if only the shoe was on the other foot, if it was the other way around im sure that the us customers would bitch about how they are being screwed compared to the canadian dollar. its just not fair, and my bet is that yamaha will not change there prices along with most everything else.

I just purchased another 04 Viper S from the US for 3200.00. There is one at the local dealer for 5500.00. plus taxes. I feel bad for not supporting local buisiness. But when i can save that much its a no brainer. I think the Canadian dealers and other buisiness will suffer unless they do something fast. I live close to the US border and see sleds and vehicles coming from the US all the time. Someone told me the border see's about 60 a day. Thats not mentioning all the other goods that are coming from the US. The CND doller won't stay above the US if this keeps up.

the reason for bitching about it is to get it changed, the government in canada usually listens when the people complain.

my uncle just bought a tacoma in the states and they listed it as a DEMO with 600miles on it and that doesnt work, the definition of a used vehicle down there is one that has transfered ownership.
Best bet is a US friend or a broker
