When I went to pick up my new 96XT 600 my dealer offered me one of the three new SnoSport leftovers he still had for ~$1200.00 which he said was below his cost. My son was only 3yo. and I declined Back in the day they could not give them away. Yamaha in the eighties was constantly bashed for not providing big Hp. sleds instead of entry level, beginner and smaller sleds.

Local dealer just sold this one. Never been on the snow. He also has a 97 Vmax-4 in the same condition sitting on the showroom floor.

That would be Bob at twin lakes right, He has a lot of sleds still in crates and never opened or so I've heard? . I have made offers on that V 4 many times and he would just laugh and say it's not for sale! Great guy to buy sleds from and good dealership!

Sounds like a contradiction to me. If he was such a great guy to buy sleds from he wouldn't have any in crates.

If I were a dealer it would be very tempting to have a extensive "personal collection". Maybe bad for the bottom line, but if he can why not? Maybe plans for a museum after retirement? That would be cool to see a retro showroom like they were still for sale but from 20-30 years ago.
