Gun Deer Opening Weekend

Haha funny, my buddies and I are heading up to Clark Co on Friday. Last year we saw a few monsters but none of us could get a damn shot on them, but we did bag 3 does and a spiker...

you have to be nuts to deer hunt in Ws anyways. That hi power crap scares me o death. lol Maxdlx

Private farm in St Clair co.for the 15th and 16th and then to Standish mi for the rest of the week for deer camp with family. Can't wait there are some big deer running aroud in the thumb area. Good luck eveybody and be safe.

Ya I know but it was nearly sunset on sunday last year so we took what we could get....

Good luck , guys. Bring your cameras and post some pictures. I'd rather see them on here than running out in front of my rig this winter!

Dont you worry I will be posting some pictures of either the scenary or hopefully a monster buck.....

well, i'm all done already....

six point 700am this morning i was the first shot around us. could see my house from my treestand. mercy killing, had an arrow sticking out of his face, arrow went through the back of his throat under the left ear, and through his upper pallet out the right side of his face. carbon arrow broken off with fletchings still on the arrow.

wasnt a deer i would have normally shot, was a small symetrical 6 point, last years fawn. but, with his condition i dont think he would have made it through the winter, and suffered a terrible death. not sure if he was eating since the arrow incident.

have to ask the neighbors what color fletchings they have to find out who messed this little guy up v.s letting him go. ski

Thats a crazy story about the arrow!!!!!! Congrats on the opening morning kill.......Sucks for me having to work on opening day, but thats life. BRING ON THE WEEKEND

Ashland area

160 arces of private, family owned forest just outside of Ashland. Bow hunted there last weekend and saw three monsters that would be hanging on the wall now if I would have had my rifle. The bow just won't shoot 100 yrds no matter how well it is set up. There might be a case or two of beer killed also once the monsters are hanging from the meat pole!

Good on Ya!

I would have done the same thing....
I have a ton of respect for all the critters that I hunt/ kill.

I will be going up the next 2 weekends for gun deer, and then muzzleloader.

Back yard . . .

I take relatives' and friends' kids out for their first few years. So far a 6 point genetically inferior 3 yr old is all that has been taken.

My boy (13 yr old) goes out this afternoon.
