Gun Deer Opening Weekend


Our Ohio gun season starts tommarrow morning, I need a couple more in the freezer to make it thru winter. I shoot the first ones I see during gun season, if its brown its goin down.....LOL! Them horns/antlers dont even make good soup!

Anyone kill a monster from here? post some pics.

i go by the same thiery heres a pic. i shot bambi at 250 yards wasn't sure on the size and i only had a doe tag.

Heres the buck that i got on our first day. 8 point and just over a 20" spread. jr_amsiol it may not be big, but there definatly the best eating.

I got a 4 pnt and 8 pnt this year, missed another 8, he came out to my right and was so close to me, that I had to try and get up and try and turn to my right to get a shot, he busted me and took off, no chance of hitting him. I moved my stand for a better setup for how they come in on the runway, and if another one comes out I'll be set!!

I hunt in Almonte, and abit in Dunrobin (close to Ottawa/Kanata) and I also can hunt my Grandmothers old Farm, 100 acres, up in Quebec. Was up there last weekend of the gun, we seen 5-6, but all just flags running away as we walked in. Found an awesome Oak Ridge, and 3 major runways coming in and out of it tho, also found the biggest scrape of my life up there, I swear I could lie down inside of it!! I want that Buck next year!!!
 
I tagged a 5 point that someone else gut shot and it ended up in my parents woods. It must have been shot Saturday sometime, and we found it on Sunday afternoon after we got back from hunting up north..

I hate careless hunters.

I passed on 3 does on friday night up north.
But I have blackpowder yet this weekend, and an antlerlesshunt in Dec if I want to freeze my butt off.
 
muzzleloader opens friday the 14th in northern lower of michigan and goes till the 23rd. everyone be careful and respectful with others sharing the woods.

Now thats a nice buck. I bought a muzzleloader 2 years ago but i have yet to go hunting with it. I never have my tag left by the time muzzleloader season gets here.
