witch years yamaha did best piston for srx 98-99 or 2000 and up they don;t have the same parts number
2000 & newer were coated & are a better piston.
Other than the coatings are the pistons the same ?

Great! Now I have a 98 lower and would like to assemble it with 2000 cylinders, and 98 heads, will all this work ?
yes, it will work but the 98 heads on top of the 2000 cylinders will be a little low on compression, (I will guess youll be around 115-120lbs)you could flat cut the heads about .015"-.020" to get it up to snuff, the newer heads are smaller in volume and had a tighter squish clearance then the early 98-99. The reason it will be lower is the porting is a little hotter in the 2000 up cylinders and the raised exh port will lower the compression of your 98 heads some.
