I did this to mine. The sound is a very nice improvement! The holesaw dropped off the extension and fell inside the can. But it shook out after several minutes! My little brother asked if I had added pipes! HAHA.

If you get checked by the dnr you will likely get a ticket for aftermarket pipes in WI.
1) I did this on my xtc and it was noticeably louder. Especially in town and at the motel / gas stations.
2) LOUD sleds are a MAJOR contributing factor to trail closures in WI as well as elsewhere.

LOUD PIPES SAVE LIFES

I am with vmax700SX_rider on this one. I mean come on you have Harleys that are f-ing loud as hell, but as soon as you touch your exhaust on a truck or anything you are getting a ticket. I think its complete b.s.

The difference between harleys/trucks and piped snowmobiles is that harleys and truck
The difference between harleys/trucks and piped snowmobiles is that harleys and trucks are driven on public streets. Snowmobiles are driven on trails on land that is for a large part privately owned. People who own the land and get woken up at night by loud sleds have the right to close trails. Keep that in mind next time a trail you ride on gets rerouted or is lost all together - was it because of you? Are you the one who is ruining everyone elses fun?
I joined a local snowmobile club last year and seeing how hard people work on keeping the trails open and cleared and marked gave me a new found respect for what goes on in a snowmobile club. I will not pipe my sleds or run cans. To me it is just not worth it.

i understand that sure at 1 or 2 in the morning those pipes and cans can get annoying hence trail closures but in my opinion its just a phase for people. I am 16 and i love sleds with aftermarket exhaust i am personally getting a sno stuff rumble pack for my 2000 sxr 600 and i had a MBRP can on my old vmax and love the sound....im sure when im older i will think they are loud and annoying just like my dad tells me all the time

When you are older, sitting in your garage and listening to the sled with the loud pipes rumbling at idle reminiscing to your son of your snowmobile ventures when you were his age, you may remember how many trails there were when you were 16 years old and how it would be nice if there were any to ride on with him.yamaha4evr said:i understand that sure at 1 or 2 in the morning those pipes and cans can get annoying hence trail closures but in my opinion its just a phase for people.
