Could someone please explain to me the correct way to adjust the chokes on my 98 srx. Thanks for any help , MT

choke

If you look at the sixth picture in technical pages/engine/carb cleaning you see the choke wire and arm, the choke arm should have 0.5-1.5mm(0.02-0.06inch) freeplay when choke is off.

THAT'S why we all LOVE YA daman, you are so dam techinical.KEEP UP the good work.Do you have an answer for my throttle that it takes it time to drop to idle rpm after I stop the sled.I loosened the cable more, but still not there.

lol...

your welcome....marinetech

blue if you got a hanging idle you could be to lean on the pilot
circuit, try turning your pilot screws out 1/2 to 1 turn OUT, should
help.

There is not that much snow daman,I basically tramped it all down already. When snow is not abundant yet to go crazy.A lot of obstacles to watch out for.Frozen mounds of dirt, grass, culverts, but put on some 30 miles yesterday with the 2 sleds.Wanna bring the SRX in the heated garage and take carbs off to get to them so called fuel screws.RATher run the SXR on this terrain right now, don't want to wreck the SRX.

Not much for snow here either, it might not have been too bad but it seems the wind blew away most of what we had. My brother owns a plane and has a nice little grass airstrip out at the farm, so I took the SRX out there to do some testing. But other than on the airstrip I don't think it would be very good here as there's only about 3 inches of snow in the fields. Friggen cold too.

got the same problem with my srx.....come to a stop and it idles at like 2500 for about 5 sec or so then drops to 1700 rpm....is the the idle hang you are talking about daman???

X2.......

That's my problem, daman was only trying to help out.It seems that the culprit is the fuel screws.Turn them out a bit more. Was going to do mine today, but feel lazy and feel like doing anything.I am just watching it snow a little thru the window.Been on the computer since 7 this morning,I gotto get off my chair and get a life.

Boy allot of that idle hang going around, take two aspirin and call me in the morning...lol

no but if you checked your idle screw and it's not idled up too high and your throttle end play is 2mm and not binding anywhere then next is to check your pilot screws(fuel screws) to see if there 2 turns out from lightly seated, if your not stock and running pipes you may need to go up a size on the pilot jet them selves.

also somtimes lowering your idle little more then spec will help too..
