srx choke adjustment

also check to make sure your throttle shaft is moving free and smoothly and not binding and returning all the way.

i believe there is holes for a drop of oil to be apllyed in each carb bush..

Yes guys that's what he means. When you are on the gas, then stop and the idle hangs at around 2,500 then slowly drops to normal, turning out the fuel screws slightly will bring this down. It's much the same case with the SX motor and their common "off the line bog or hesitation" when you gas it from a stop... too lean in the idle circuit or fuel screws... of course there is the intake design flaw helping this problem on the SX motor, the lean circuit is a big part of the problem.

stock is 1 1/8 turns out correct??? i am runnin mine at 1 5/8 or so out still has the idle hangup....daman your saying to turn them to 2 turns??? my sled has the cold air kit and gutted box factory pipes and can so i can see where turning it out further....is this gonna affect the gas milage by doing this??

1 1/8 is stock yes......

try 2, 2 1/4 no more..... ..

should not cause more fuel consumtion because it's your idle circuit after
1/4ish throttle your done with it..

that's not what i wanted to hear ...lol I have a dead bog from an idle and just under engagement. could this be helped by adjusting these screws?

First i would pull carbs and go right through them, top to bottom, check
all settings, clean clean clean...

have they been done and done right latly?

Yes they are all clean. Very thoroughly ! Pilots , mains etc. completely dissassembled. I know what i am doing as far as maintenance and mechanical, just not familiar with Yamaha. Just curious of this bog and if it was typical of the srx?

remove the carb rack i hate to say....
My very point. Daman gives ya those nice pics but fails to tell you it takes 1/2 +/-hour to pull the carbs and 2 seconds to adjust them. LOL :ban:

I'm not sure. I'll pull the carbs tomorrow.I was just wondering if that could be the problem that's all. What's the setting for these screws and how far out can i take them ? :offtopic: sorry about the hijack

Thanks for the info. You really are the guru of yamaha's ! lol Just can't wait to try something different. I've never owned any other sled other than a skidoo including 3 mach Z's !

you'll find the reliability a little bit better....

That's good to know. just want something realiable with a little snap. It has some good parts...v-force reeds , roller rooster secondary , red primary spring and a bender can , air box gutted. Ripsaw track with 144 picks and 10" carbides. this thing should be fun on the rivers !
