Does anyone have any pics of the install of these drop brackets??? Kinda like to see how they go in, pretty hesitant bout drilling holes into the tunnel without seeing one first!!!!

Its not all that bad, you just drill out a few rivets so that the brackets fit flush with your tunnel, and re locate the center mounting hole an inch below. Granted you will have a hole in your tunnel, but just go to Fastenal or Ace and but a bolt and shove it in there and your set.

The install is pretty self explanitory once you have the brackets in your hands.

I'm asuming you totally remove the stock (gold) bracket and put the new ones in its place.....and for the center you RE-USE the stock (gold) bracket but you just relocate it lower. Does that sound right??

I drilled out the rivets for the rear and took a wiz wheel and cut the stock bracket to insure the bracket fit flush, then put the new one in place. And yes you just drill a new hole for the center mount and your done.

how big are the new brackets overall???? they look to be like 3" wide or so and maybe 3/8" to 1/2" thick, 5-6" long???

Ya that shoulds about right, they are about 3" wide, and closer to 3/8" thick, and about 5" long, but only about 2-3" go up into the tunnel and the rest is below the tunnel...

I just made my own drop brackets. I actually removed the old ones for templates . Use stainless steel of the same thickness and put another peice in behind to take up the space of the formed brackets due to the overlap from the tunnel reinforcements. After you trace out the old brackets drop down the requied amount to clear the heat exchangers or what ever depth you want and extend your traced drawing to accomadate the new hole position. If you drop the hole position like I did to clear the coolers the rear hole will move down 2.25 or 2.5 inches and forward towards the front of the sled about 1/8". The center hole will be just off of center and down about 1.250" . I can take some pictures and measurements if you like. There is a posting under a SXR 600 longtrack conversion or something like that.
