I picked up a Club Car golf cart for $500 and I decided to build it into a monster cart for the kids (and Myself) for Christmas. I installed a Jakes 10" coil over/twin a-arm front suspension and put heavy duty leafs/ lift blocks and some huge shackles I fabricated on the rear. I painted the body with a maroon spray on truck bedliner. I put headlights/tail lights in it and built the light bar with over head lights. It has new seats front and rear (the rear seat flips down to expose an aluminum diamond plate cargo bed). It has a carbon fiber look dash with a Pioneer stereo/cd player and a aftermarket steering wheel. And finally I put a set on 23x10.5x12 wheels and tires on it. The floor is 24" off the ground, the seat height is 41" and its 81" to the top of the lights (it barely fits in the garage!!!!).
I still need to make speaker covers for the underside of the floor pan. I want to build a set of nerf bars for it as well. And the big upgrade is going to be a 16 HP B&S Vanguard engine that I picked up for $50. I'm going to put a cam and a high rev kit in the engine and install it this spring. The engine should be good for about 30 HP when its done and it should move the cart 40+ MPH.
Its been a pretty fun project so far.
Also...check out all the fresh snow that has fallen in the last week or so!!!!
