Hey guys, I'm looking into getting some trail porting done on my sled its a 1998 srx 700. I need some feedback from people that had this work done from Don "Mr viper", Let me know

I havent had it done but Ive heard nothing but great things and, everyone swears by him. He knows his stuff. Do a search on here im sure there is alot on this topic.

mr.vipers porting

im sure you will be happy with his work, i noticed a big difference on my 2000 srx 700 with his trail porting ,cut heads and modded pistons last year so i sent my motor back to him to give her a little more this year. you might want to consider him cutting your heads and pistons also to get the most out of your port work.

Anything that I have heard about Don has been excellent, with all of the good reviews and the amount of help he offers on this site I am thinking about getting his big bore kit. One thing is for sure, a porting job on a 98 SRX is going to make it into a completely different animal, a night and day difference, you will be happy!

He includes cutting the heads in the port work because you lose compression when you port the motor so you have to do some head work to make up for it.

When you get your top end back it will defidentally be harder to pull over.

i have also heard many good things about dons porting.....got my top end sent away to him right now for the trail port.....just hoping i get it back by xmas with the snow and shipping delays.....doing it to my 98 mountain srx.....should turn out pretty good....

I had him do my brothers xtc 700 motor. With the stock single pipe this thing hauls. It beats a lot of f7's and other sled s you wouldn't imangine. He can really make some power.

i believe around 15 hp over stock. I think you have to run a min of 94 octane though. I for sure would have had my motor if I wasnt afraid of gas in the UP in the remote spots we ride.....

he's building me a 780 for my 01 srx now . i did quite a bit of searching around and he is the only engine builder i have not heard anything bad about, all i have heard is he's the best! so bring on the rev xp's !!!

Just had mine done and have already ran it. Excellent guy to deal with and it performs great. Still breaking in the new rings, but it is impressive so far. Adds about 15hp. Easily the best bang for the buck outside of a clutch kit.

I run in the up all the time and have ran 87 octane before. It dosen't mis a beat,it's just as reliable as stock and it actually runs better then stock.

Im sure Don has the dyno number from his port work compared to stock. He should post this up soon. I am surprised he hasnt already.

Who needs a dyno sheet? My seat of the pants dyno tells me is scares the crap out of me. Got a fresh trailport job from Don and am a little scared of riding it in the ditch so far. Can't squeeze the trigger very long for sure and haven't been able to get a good look at the tach yet. Too busy watching where I'm going. Only have 20 miles on it so far but, I'm sure I'll get used to it. Definitely puts a smile on my face.;)! ;)! ;)!
