Port or big bore just depends on money really. The port job is a large gain without spending half the money of a big bore so it was an easy decision for me based on the number of miles we are able to get in each year. I'll let Don chime in on his pricing.
Porting
Iahacker, you took the words right out of my mouth, I won the porting contest. Last night i installed the Heel Clickers that MRViper700 recommened and WOW. I thought my 1999 SRX was fast, this thing just rocks. Right now when i launch it pulls to the side so i need to ajust a limter strap to straighten it out. I could not work today all i was thinking about was lastnight, I can't wait to ajust and pull that trigger some more.

15 horse- was that lake porting or trail? I wonder what the viper would gain with a trail port? I may be sending mine to him next summer with any kind of gain like that. It'll be time for a top-end refresh anyways with about 5000-5500 miles on her.

If you can spend the extra dough go with the big bore over the porting. There's alot more torque and more hp with the big bore. The torque a lone is worth it.

Thanks pro116, from now till next winter im gonna be saving money for a new car and possibly the bigbore. I figure the bigbore is my best bet as i want to rebuild my sled next year anyway so instead of buying 3 oem pistons then doing a porting job, if i go big bore everything is there for me....

just had mine done by mrviper, just about finished the break in. I just raced my buddy's o2 bone stock srx, let me tell you it wasent even a race. From a dead stop or from a roll i'd jump in front right away and start pullling away like if he was stopped lol i had 4-5 machines on him in no time, when the lakes will be frozen its going to be fun
cant wait to race his attack now! Thanks Don!
