Handwarmer Wiring for '87 Exciter

I need a wiring diagram or description of how to connect hand and thumb warmers on my 1987 Exciter. The previous owner was kind enough to gut them for me. :whine:

if you remove the lower cover off your bars you will find 2 wires, black and yellow with a black tracer. they are the wires for the heated gripa and thubm warmer that the factory has left open.
 
Thanks! I'm guessing that the grip warmers are wired in series and through the switch along with a resistor which is either bypassed or not for high and low. Does this sound right? Is there a resistor involved? I guessing that the thumb warmer is also wired in series with the grips. Any additional info will be greatly appreciated.
