I am getting really close with mine. I did a WOT plug chop and cut the plug open and posted it here. I am pretty happy with how it is running. Raised my needles one putting them at 3, they were at 2. 165 mains, 55 primaries, and 1 3/4 on the screws. I actually think the screws could go back to 1 7/8s. I have just a slight idle hang some times. Didn't realize that 1/8th turn would make that big of a difference. But it was nice to see some cause and effect.
Now I need to get my secondary dialed in. I think I should have a tad more backshift. I understand backshift now but still struggle a little understanding upshift.

Glad to hear your getting closer I set my needles back to stock and stayed with the fuel screws out to 2 turns , seems to run great . I dont seem to notice a ton of power at takeoff but thats probably in the clutching .
these things dont hook up for crap anyway so i dont mind not having all the power on the low end . It spins enough even with 144 studs in it . i was wondering did the 136 install make alot of difference in deep snow ?
I know the approach angle on the Viper kinda sucks when it comes to getting up on the deep snow , mine kind of plows and spins its way through .
Ive been pondering doing the drop bracket thing . i heard it changes the angle a bit and may help .

Don't really have any deep snow to try it. Really hooks up on the trail though. Will still pretty much spin the track at will. But at least now it lifts the front of the sled while doing it. I am a lot more confident in the snow we do have now. I used to be concerned when we would get the two' plus storms. I don't have those fears anymore.
Just got back from a ride. Trails were freshly groomed with the foot of fresh fallen lake effect snow. Was 7*F and the thing was making a lot more power tonight. Enough that I was a bit concerned about jetting. I don't just hold it wide open so I have few concerns about that. Did notice that it made enough more power that I was getting 200 RPM more at WOT.
I am happy with the primary like it is. Going to play with the secondary some more. My engage RPM is good, my RPM was climbing right to 8700 at 20*F, at 7* it was climbing to 8900. I need to get some records written out so I can remember what it does and when it does it.
My concern with the drop brackets is it messes up the trail manners? It is my understanding they get a little more tippy when you do that? I ride my sled almost exclusively on the trails for the first couple months of the season. That last couple months I probably do 40% off trail.

I don't know what you have for clutching. If your useing the stock rollers chenge them to the 15mm ones and the clutch won't hit so hard off the line. I noticed a difference in traction after changing them. I have a 136 ripsaw not studded. A buddy took it for a ride and asked me how many studs are in the track. I told him none and he couldn't believe it.

Im ok with how mine is going right now , i think im done wrenching on it for this season . I just want to ride . Im gonna keep an eye on the plugs and wash and run it . Especially in the colder temps , Ive also noticed how much faster it feels in the +5* and colder temps , almost makes me nervous on the jetting . I did install some red LEDs under the footrests and front shocks the other day . They look pretty sweet at night !
Ill get a few pics up when i can .

Got to try it out in some better conditions. -10*F it is amazing! The amount of change in performance with changing temps is much more evident with the pipes as expected. My arms and shoulders still hurt from hanging on to it.
I am going to toy with a few more things yet this winter but I do feel it is ready to go right now. I have a set of 15.6mm rollers for it that I would like to try. I put a silver spring in the secondary with the Bender 02VTP helix. That seems to be a pretty good combination.
Off trail the snow is as deep as 2' in places. With the longer track I had no issues going anywhere I wanted to go. I didn't have any issues with the snow chilling the pipes that I expected.

Bing bing bing !!!
I have the EXACT same problem. Mine started doing it lasy year. It is probablt the throttle safety switch system. There is a switch in the thumb throttle in the bars and one down on the carbs. I was told to try to loop the wires at the carbs but it didnt work for me. I just got a new thumb assembly. I'm going to try that tomorrow.

When I let off the gas from a hard burp , the engine will kinda do a (BING BING BING ) thing until it revs down on its own , and while its doing this i cant get back on the gas until the RPMs come back down or it will bog ?
I know this is explaing like im like a turd but thats exactly what it does !
Im stumped , I can probably ride through this but , on a trail sometimes you just need to get onto it , off then back on , and this could be a problem .
Any ideas ?
