check for fuel line crack on center carb. pressurize the hose in water to check for leaks. If a hose is bent the right way the crack will open up and allow a lot of air can get in. It has got to be due to a lot of air relative to the amount of fuel.

damnit, i hate it when that happens! I wish people would post back what they conclude at the end of an issue

Didn't post a conclusion because still not 100% sure what was the cause. Put it back together and installed a new updated fuel pump with out vent. Have put 5058 miles since the burn down with out any problem.

check your pulse line i just did the samething and my pulse line to my fuel pump had a same crack in it ( still factory lines to )
