2001 700 srx all stock.2000 miles stored inside. started it up this year. new plugs and gas 93 with stabil from last year. seams its really idling low like 500 or so. then had a bog and then revs rite up. but down low is crappy. i havent been able to take it for a ride. im figuring add new gas and should be ok? i havent took the carbs apart. bought it last winter and it was fine. im new to these sleds so fill me in on what to look for and WHAT to do. really appreciate it. i dont want to make it worse then it is. thanks Jim JeepJImmy19@aol.com Happy Holidays!!!

Does it idle better when you flip the choke on a little or momentarily? If so, thats a dead give away that your pilot jets are plugged up. May also, possibly, need to adjust your fuel screws in a tad.

Now Marty how can you say that when me and others on the site here
have been using stabil for many many years with out any issues at all.

do you think they would sell it if it did more harm then good?,that's it's
main purpose to stabilize fuel.

you can have problems with SF too. it's not a miracle in a can

allot of things can come into play when you get plugged up pilots, stabil
works, so dose seafoam.

i have used stabil in all my engines for years now from sleds, lawnmowers, chainsaws to boats and cars....never had a problem.....put stabil in run engine for a fit then shutoff and drain gas out of tanks......put fresh 92 oct in for first run then switch to 89 or whatever fuel it calls for....seems to work for me......the srx thats a different story pull carbs every year no matter what then i know there good....

and just a tip all 4 of the phillips float bowl screws replace them with allen head bolts for a couple bucks....i always stripped those screws backing them out would corrode in.....easier to remove later....

Lol, been there, done that on my 93 exciter. I ended up taking a hacksaw blade and cutting a slot in it for a straight blade screwdriver. Worked, it came loose.

stabil

all i am saying isif you area noviceand dont clean your carbs dont use it!!! if you know what you are doing it will work but seafoam is still the better product

just set the fuel screws at about 1.5 turns out, it will idle better and if you run better clutching will keep it from boggin on take off. leave all the rest stock settings.

well here all along i thought it was going to be "hard". took the carbs off easily.. the screws were not that hard to get out. i put some never sieze on them. the carb inside was spotless. just the pilot jets were clogged just a LIL where i couldnt see through them!. cleaned them and and the fuel screws and main jets and passages and perfect. runs wicked. just need SNOW. may take it to Island Pond, VT soon though!. had a hard time getting the air box boots to stay on. any ideas? all and all simple enough! used the 1.5 turns out. idling at 1800 NICE. thanks guys!
