Hello
Has anyone changed a 94 Vmax 600 mechanical brake to a hydraulic brake? Would other Yamaha brakes like a Mountain Max fit the Vmax? If not what would you suggest?
I really hate that mechanical cable brake.
Any info would be great

Sure you can, how easy it is all depends on how sharp you are. Basically all you need to do is make a 3/8" plate which bolts in the stock caliper holes and wraps backwards, it will look like a porkchop, then you mount the hyd. caliper to it, we used to make a kit to put a wilwood brake on it, but I don't have any more plates left, someone on here just did this last year asked me for one, see if he reads this thread. Also, you need to flip the rotor over, center it in the caliper after you mont it and put a set screw in the hub to hold it there. Mine has a late model Yammie master on it and a wilwood caliper. Works mint one finger braking.
