I've been chasing aroung this issue for a while... my sled cruises great up to about 60mph at CONSTANT throttle, as i gradually increase from 60-75 it doesn't want to "stay in the power" almost like its bogs down or falls out of the power curve, kind of seems like it drops a cylinder or something, it's weird!! If I cram on the throttle it's fine ALL the time. So i thought that it was maybe my secondary was too soft and so i increased the wrap from 60 to 80 and still no difference. It seems like this problem has been hampering me since i piped it, any ideas on a cure??? carbs are all clean and All 3 plugs are Perfect chocolate brown also. ANY SUGGESTIONS would be great

I have Bender pipes and they do the same thing. They do it lower in the RPM range than yours, but at part throttle they seem to lack power but when you put it to the bars, hang on! I think it may have be the needle position but I haven't messed with it yet.

That would make some sense being that the needle controls the mid range. it's definately what i would consider a mid range power loss. how does this sound to all you other guys out there?? maybe i should raise up the needles a bit.

Have you tried checking the plug color on the mid range? Cruise at mid throttle for a while, hit kill switch, and then check plugs.

it is a LITTLE on the lite side for color in the midrange, nothing life threatening but i'd like to get it darker. I remember dropping the needles down a notch from the factory when it was new cuz they were so fat, and when i piped it i just left the needles. i called Simons CPR yesterday and he said that i should have them at the stock setting (Notch #3) or possibly even Notch 3.5 or 4. So looks like I'll bring them back to stock and try that. Hopefully it cures the problem, cuz it sure is irratating the way it is!!
