P.S. spartasxr: I didn't know you could buy slp's for a 06 attak!!

Haha. Yeah I don't think triples on the 4 stroke would work out. I am just rambling about my old sled, which is now my sons. :bash:

i have a set of the hauck (simons cpr) pipes with aset of carbs allready jetted for them by jeff simon these pipes are used on the factory yamaha snowcross sleds and make awesome power they are also quieter than a srx with a bender can they are for sale if u are interested

i have the bender pipes on my sled and love them. The sled just ripes down the trail. Race alot of my friends that have polaris and beat them everytime. The loudness of the pipes gets annoying after a long haul only down fall of the pipes. Also if anyone is interested in selling there triple pipes i would be interested. my pipes are bent and starting to crack.

Did your fuel consumption go up much with the slp's?I hear some pipes improve mileage and it seems most make it much worse, just curious.
I get around 10, somtimes a lil more with my slp's and I ride very hard!

I have run GYT-R sma 8dm93-30-00 Bender pipes for several seasons, dont think i have ever achieved over 100 miles on a tank. My jetting is 150 mains, and 52.5 pilots with a tempa flow. I am not complaining though, i seldom ride groomed trails, and use the sled as a stress reliever. That and the sound it makes from 7000 rpm and up makes it hard to ride easy.

What kind of plug wires are those? And does your pto pipe hit your shock tower? Mine does...

The wires are NGK, and as far as the shock tower, i have a deflector, or shield that mounts to the tower.

Where did you get the wires from? I don't see a protector on your left shock tower is why I asked. I have one on the right side but not the left. My clutch side pipe has a big dent in it from hitting the tower so I think for now I'm just gonna grind some off of the tower. Then when I get the cash I'll get a torque limiter.

GTY=R pipes would be the Power inc pipes. Back in the day we dyno tested all the pipes for this motor. The pipes with the biggest number were the CPR's but that was like by 1 or 2 hp, but you had to run them at 9200. All the other pipes we tested were so close in numbers you couldn't tell the difference, but the PI's made the same power at a much lower RPM, which is what you want, however they were loud. PSI's were good also, same as Benders. But we don't drive dyno's so big numbers always don't mean much.

The best pipes I ran for all around drivability were the PI's and the AAEN's. CPR's made the big numbers but you had to gear it down and spin it 92 to make them work, may be good for drag racing, but if I was buying a set today, they would be AAEN, broad powerband and they're easy on the ears.

What about srx pipes on a sxr? Will they work? I know you'd have to use a srx hood, has anybody tied this?

I would say no. The SRX is a totally different motor with it's powervalves and seperate heads, different ignition.etc. The Viper is closer in engine design to the SRX. Some people have done that pipe conversion plus ignition on Vipers. Alot of work though. As for the SXR pipes. All work good. That was a great motor to pipe. The AAEN, PSI, SLP, CPR , Bender and PI were all good pipes for this machine. The AAEN, Benders and SLP are quiet as were the center dump PI. The CPR's are not real loud either. The PSI were kind of loud and so were the end dump PI's. The fastest pipes on the lakes were probably the CPR and end dump PI. Keep in mind any older Hauck pipes are CPR's (snocross pipes) and any newer are AAEN. Also PSI and PI are out of business, so any tech info would have to come from previous experience. The center dump PI are great for midrange torque in the trails.
