Parts gouging

well checked out CycleParts Warehouse and their prices are great.I just ordered parts from teamalpine.com prior to xmas and CPW beat all their prices and both of them beat Port Yamaha to.I can pick up a powervalve for about $58.00 compared to $120.00 from my local dealer here in Canada. For some reason,Yamaha parts are like double the price from the states, and that is way to much of a difference.Being we are all in North America, the prices should be identical for the same product.I will and have been ordering all my parts for both sleds on line for the past little while.Don't remember the last time I visited my local Yamaha ealer for parts. Why would I,I need to save money to as a consumer.THAT'S LIFE!!!!

boondoctor,I think you better find yourself a better paying job.$8 isn't much, but it is when you can pick them up cheaper.I picked a dozen of them up from Royal Dist. for around $1.30 each .I already stocked up on some 20 plastic bushings for the suspension from the states cheaper then my dealer here.I like to stock a lot of extra parts when I have extra cash,so I am not in a bind when I actually need the parts.Gonna stock up on power valves and cables also and some other important items.Just purchased a complete pull start assembly as a backup for my SRX,will sit on shelf until the day comes..and I will have it.I already have a couple of w-arms,shocks for rear, wheels, and misc. things from another suspension I striped apart. When something breaks down,I would hope I will have a part here and get it changed the same day.Being as my sleds are getting older,I will make sure I have enough parts that wear the most in stock for the future...that's just me.

Steve,PM some day and let me know how your transaction went with CPW because they will probably be my next choice to for ordering parts for my sleds. With teamalpine.com,I placed my order on Dec 18/07.They charged my Visa that same day,yet they didn't ship the goods out until Dec 28/07.My delivery date is now set for Fri Jan4/08.A little dissaponting the wait. With CPW they won't charge your credit card until they have all your parts in stock and then charge it and delivery goes out.

Received order confirmation email from CPW seconds after submitting order. Shipping cost just over nine bucks... So far so good. Will let you know when I get the goodies...Thanks all... Steve.

If the CPW transaction is satisfactory, I will make a point of emailing them and making them aware that I would probably never have heard of them if not for TY. I'm assuming we're talking about advertising and sponsorship $. Perhaps someone at CPW will take note. Thanks.. Steve.

I tried CPW and I'll have to say they're a joke if ya ask me. I just received an order I placed 3 weeks ago. I order 5 items and received two but was billed for 3. Before I got the shipment some guy calls me wondering if I recieved one of the items I ordered and I told him no I didn't and he went on blaming some "blonde" that works there. So right now I'm pretty friggin pissed at this so called parts outfit. And better yet I've called the place 3 time and two time I was disconnected and the 3rd I recieved a message that the # is temporarily out of service. Live and learn. My bad I guess. So heads up to everyone else. :o|

That sucks. I had a slight problem with them too. I ordered 2 5 packs of rivets and they sent me 2 rivets. So I called and told him that I ordered 2 5 packs not 2 individual rivets and he promptly sent the remaining 8. And just like I figured it was a 5 pack full and another 5 pack that had 2 out of them that he sent me... He said they just started doing this internet parts thing and they apologized. I still plan to order from them but like I said earlier not for anything I'm in a big hurry to get. The other place that I've mentioned before too (Surdyke Yamaha) has never screwed up my order and between me and 2 friends we've ordered a lot of stuff from them. They just aren't quite as cheap as CPW.

Just remember that if it takes a long time to get your parts, it may be that Yamaha does not have them in stock to send to the dealer (back ordered)and that it is not the dealers fault. The dealer should let you know if that is the problem though.

Follow up: Well, I did finally get through (they must of had their phone fixed) and explained the issue. I did get my parts (except for the unavailable ones, which I was never made aware of) It took two shipments and almost 6 weeks but did get it. So, if your in no hurry and from NY, plain on at least 3 weeks.
Next time I'll be visiting my local dealer. Thanks anyhow.

It sucks that you had problems. I've mentioned this before but Surdyke Yamaha is also a good place to order from. They have really good prices too and they have their you know what together.
