Had a little race yesterday with the sleds mentioned above, and lost to all 3. We only went for maybe 400 or 500 ft. On the hole shot all 3 got me off the line with me brothers XC700 taking a strong lead (his is jetted and some clutching). the other XC 700 is bone stock as is the ZR 600. After the 4 or 500 ft. I had to back off as there was too much dust and didn't seem to have a chance. Although I was really gaining on the 600 after losing the holeshot. In the end the XC 700 was about 6 or 7 sled lengths ahead, the XC 700 the (stock one) was about 4 ahead and the little 600 was about 2 lengths ahead.
All sleds except the 600 have ripsaw tracks. My sled is a 2001 700SXR with a new ripsaw I bought it used this year so not sure about jetting. but I know there was some clutching done to it as there is some info about it written on the secondary. The clutch engages at 4700 rpm and revs out at 8400 if that tells anything about whats done to it.
I'm really hoping someone out there has the recipe to at least get me close to the XC because that really hurt. Would Viper transfer rods help? I don't want to do anything too radical that would effect the reliability of the machine, and I mainly trail ride.
Any info would be really really be appreciated.
Thanks guys
Slow Eddie (for now anyway)
