I have a '93 Exciter II with a 570 win. I recently took the carbs apart to clean them but, I didn't trust the settings of the air/pilot screws or the idle screw setting because of the joker that owned the sled prior to me.
The tech info on the belt guard says that the air/pilot screw should be turned out 5/8 of a turn. These carbs are a round slide with a electro-mechanical solenoid on them next to the air/pilot screws. Is this setting correct? How about setting the idle screw prior to starting it? The setting before I tore them apart was 3 turns out but, the carbs were pretty dirty and I think the previous owner had been in screwing around with things instead of taking the carbs off to clean them.
Is there an easy way to get the carbs out/in?!?!?! Man, I had to remove the intake boots after taking the air box loose just to get them back in easily.
