Viper bog unless WOT - help

Ok, here's my next guess.

I have a wire rub problem going on right now and can't find it. When I hit my high/low beam or the brake the gauge pod shuts off and comes back on. Been through the harness under the motor and under the tank. Anyway, I decided to ride it yesterday since it still ran fine. Towards the end of the day, it started having a bad bog in the mid range. There was lots of powder, and I thought that I was starting to foul a plug because of all the powder bogging my sled was doing (the common problem with a triple piped Viper). Problem with that was it was the same as yours, once on top end it ran fine again, which doesn't make sense for plugs. I was also having trouble with my hand & thumb warmer starting to not work, and had them turned onto highest setting. I finally turned the warmers off, and suddenly my mid range bog was gone. Turned the warmers back on, bogging again.

I'm thinking that the wire(s) I have grounding must be causing weak spark or something, especially when there is a lot of load on the system such as the hand/thumb warmers. Possibly you have the notorious harness rub through causing your problem? My sled was doing exactly what your describing.

Hmmm, I have not had any noticeable electrical issues. Headlights/guages havent flickered and I dont even have hand warmers. I guess it doesnt mean I dont have rub thru somewhere tho.

Still wondering if the low compression could cause this sort of problem?

Double check those vent lines off the carbs. They NEED to be hooked to the airbox. Did one of them slip off the carb end will cleaning? Happened to a friend last season and it baffled us for a bit.....
