This is my first post,I just recently registered but I've been on the site for years.Will the Reed Notch Mod work on a 1999 v-max500sx?
If so what should I expect? Slight horsepower increase? Throttle response? What about fuel consumption? Do I need to change jets or does this mod just work on its own? Any suggestions on any other simple mods.Any answers would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!!!!

Welcome to the boards! Very slight with everything because it is a 500 and a twin....dont have to rejet or anything...

Here is the link to the TY Tech section on the reed stopper mod. also do a search. lots of info on here.
i did it to a 2001 sx500r. made the sled easyer to start and improved the throttle response. fuel milage and hp was unaffected; damnit. just make shure you radius the corners where you grind it out. square corners crack more easily.
