Misc basket box for 97 Venture 600

I have been looking at the carrier space behind my two-up seat and wondering if their is anything out there that can be used to tote or carry stuff in that carrier. As it is it does not accomodate anything practical.

- too big for a single 2 gal gas can
- too small for a 5 gal gas can
- too small to build a wooden box in their (by the time I am done it would not hold much.
- as is without sides everything falls out

I found a crate that can strap to the top and hold two 2 gal gas cans but the space below is still not useable. Being a 97 someone must have a better brain wave then I am currently come up with.

PS: I just got the Yahamie and now waiting for the snow to come back. (all melted in a heat wave with loads of rain).

We have a nice soft sided cooler that fits nicely in the basket of our 97 venture.

you can fit beverages, food, and whatever back there. a small pair of bugies works well to keep it in place.

move the back rest fwd and a 5 gallon can will fit in mine. Then the back rest back again. I also put saddlebags bought from princessauto on the back rest for more storage

My seat is above the rail and in front of it. I have a raise two up seat. Maybe yours is different. I tried a smaller 3 Gal gas can which is the same size as a 5 but shallower. No go at all.

A hard small cooler would fit but they are too small and waisted space around it. I thought of building a wooden box to go down in but maybe a summer job it no other ideas come up.
