Considering the ZX2 for my SRX. Any feedback from others who have installed? I currently have an M-10, but am not happy with the weight transfer.

Just put 250 miles on the ZX2 in my 01 SRX this past weekend in the U.P. - I go 220 lbs and overall I am VERY happy with the ride - I didn't play with the settings at all (too busy riding) but it is real close at the factory settings - the only thing I did notice was the additional ski pressure - when I would go through rough stuff, I could feel it through the handlebars more - I don't know whether to soften the pre-load or adjust the transfer - (I have almost zero ski lift) - next time up I'll probably try both - my son goes 160lbs and the ride was too harsh for him at the settings that were good for me - with a little "dialing" I think it is going to be awesome!! ;)!

I purchased the ZX2 and will be finishing the install this weekend. What are your current settings? I was planning on starting at 2-5 and pre-load at 2 for a 180# rider. It sounds like we have to use hole #5 in our chassis, but I can't confirm since I haven't got it installed yet. (Shocks were missing from my shipment) I'm interested to see where you started. I think 2-4 was the stock setting but that caused the rear end to be in the air for another guy.

Also- How was the weight transfer...From your post it sounds like you are not getting a lot.

I'm at the stock settings which I believe are 2-4 and 2 on the pre-load - I am getting zero transfer at this setting and it might explain the harshness in the front end - I have long travel front shocks on my 02 SRX and I might swap them out to see how much difference that would make - it was near perfect for me without any adjustments and it really carved the trails!!!

Wow.. That's great it handled well, but I am also looking for a great improvement in transfer. Without you on the sled...is the rear of the skid off the ground a little bit?

Yes - the back is off about an 1" or so - another thing, run your track fairly loose - if you get it too tight it will want to bind up the movement of the suspension - with the revolver adjustments you should not have any trouble getting the transfer you want - let us know after you've rode it what you think!!

OK. thanks for the info. Just so you know.. On the 4 stroke side Jeff from A. D. Boivin said we had to run the revolver in position 5 for our chassis. That will bring the rear of your sled down closer to level. You may want to try that and see what you think. I am assuming you will get the transfer back after making that change.

I'm finally starting to get mine dialed in. I'm set at 1-5 with springs at 3. 200# clothed. Best thing I did was loosen the track. Seemed to make a huge difference. It really confuses me why Boivin is so adiment about running the track tight. Suspension is way to stiff and has trouble working.

Things I noticed. I figured that since I longtraveled the front end I would be able to revert to #4. This worked pretty good for the rough stuff, but tended to make the sled squerley on the flat wide open trails. I'm not sure what I really get from the #1 and #2 position. Haven't noticed much change. I also noticed ride is greately effected by front shock pressure. I think getting the right pressure set up front is a big key to this suspension. #5 (unlike the manual says) certianly gives you the transfer. I can lift the skis at will.

I would start at #5. Loosen the track to the point of no ratcheting and play with your front shocks to get the sled to carve. I noticed the rear shocks in the ZX2 will set in and begin to work better with m ore miles. Set it at #3 or #4. Go as low as you can without bottoming. Still not certian which is better. #1 or #2

Good luck

Here are some pictures of mine before and after install

Zachalyse - I ran my front revalved Viper shocks with 0 pre-load before. I planned on cranking them up some to get the front end up to better match the rear. How far did you go...What changes did you think helped...hurt? I am thinking I may need to go all the way up with them since there isn't a whole lot of adjustment on those shocks.

I cranked them up alot. Maybe 80% of the thread length. With no load, you must be nose diving. Jeff at AD Boivin told me to crank them to the point that there was no sag when you lift the front end up and let go.

.....Looks like that plastic holds alot of snow though......

Not really - the one picture was taken right after I came out of a field - the one picture with all of the sleds was taken when we came back off the trails!!
