IF YOUR HOOKING UP REAL GOOD, DEFFINEITLY 8BU-00 WEIGHTS. I TRY A HELIX AROUND A 47/40, RED SPRING AT LIKE 90 TWIST. TRY W-W-W IN PRIMARY. 3:16 (yammie tony)
For a hill climb you need more secondary twist cus you need backshift. Try a green at 70 or 80 wrap.
Lol!
For a 800' hill climb leave your SRX at home and take a 12 pack. You'll have a hell of a lot more fun and you won't be humiliated after the first run!!!!
Sorry, Couldn't resist!

I think the srx can still be competitive in the hilldrags. It's all F-7's winning these things and I want to change that next year. I was wondering if the 8bu-00 would work here, and with the proper secondary setup it should win the stock 700 class and do really well in the 800 class.
Turk, do you think that 47-43 advantedge roller rooster secondary I have would be good for this application with the 8bu's? And maybe go a little shorter on the gearing?

With 8bu & the advantedge roller go with something close to a 41/33. A 47/33 is wayyy too much for 8bu weights. add 10 degrees to each angle on that roller to get ya where a real helix is at.
dont use roller to drag.... jmo

hill climbing is addicting"
Sure is
Here's the sled I used to run locally. She was pretty quick at the 1,000 foot race I used to run. But now everyones showing up with full blown race motors. I used to ride this one on the trail. Unfortunately a trail sled just can't compete with a race motor.....and I don't have the $$ to dump into a sled just to race a few times a year.
