What is everyone running for headlight was thinking about upgrading them to a more clearer bulb. I was thinking about doing this for a little better riding at night.

I put in the 100 watt Everbright ??? they helped alot on my Viper and any single headlight sled out there needs a brighter headlight anyway. I see alot of talk on the 4 smoke side about Sylvania SilverStars. Seem to be the ticket !!

silverstars are decent, while they last.
They really seem to have poor QC on them. On all the vehicles I ahve ever used silverstars on, they have burnt out way earlier than thye should have. If you search on any automotive forum, you will find the same issue.
A cheap HID unit off ebay will be brighter, and last longer. Plus they have a cool start up to them. I have seen several sets (so you would get enough for 2 sleds, unless you have a dual beam SXR or SRX) go for 50 dollars or so on ebay. Yes, you would need to mount the ballast but it is a small issue for much better headlights.
I would be very careful about droppinga 100w bulb in, you could have melting issues. stock bulbs are 60/55w depending on hi or low beam.
You could also have decreased handwarmer/thumbwarmer, tailight/brakelight and gauge light output if you drop a 100w bulb in.

if you put a LED in the taillight, it stops the headlight from dimming.
BTW i have the silverstars in mine W/LED tail. works great. much brighter than stock, and no dimming.

I use PIAA Xtreme white series 55/65w = 100/110w with a led tailight.
The headlight has a hint of blue which helps alot at night.

I just bought a set of those 8500k 55/60w xenon bulbs off ebay.... i'll tell you how they work when I get them.

HID are not trivial on single headlights sleds. Mainly due to AC voltage on the stock headlight circuit. You can search my username and find posting on my quest in developing an HID for my sled. I might have it figured out. But I'm not 100% yet.

Also, yes, you can get the LED tail light at most automotive parts stores.
The headlight bulbs in my2001 SXr look like I would be able to put sliverstars by looking at the ends.
Spend a few extra dollars and put PIAA's in it you wont regret it. I have a xenon boosted - european white(Light purple coating) - bulb in my single headlight '00 SxR and have had people in my group tell me that their light feels/seems dull compared to mine. T

As for the Siverstars, Sylvanias website shows that they have a Rated Life of 180/70 hrs as opposed to 320/150 for a regular halogen. I burned 4 out in my old Saab in a year. I thought it was the car. Its the Lamp

I'll third it, did the same thing to both my '98's and it works much better than stock... Still not like my sisters '04 Rev, but much better than stock, with very little dimming when you hit the brake.
