I was tinkering with some more clutching today and found that my three carb boots from the airbox to the carbs are cracked. I sprayed some carb cleaner on them and found the PTO side was the only side sucking air. I ordered some new ones that'll be here Wednesday, but will it be alright to silicone them until then? I want to ride this weekend, and we're finally in the 20's right now. Just trying to get by till then. Dealer told me that they'd be fine, but I'm not really looking forward to another rebuild right away.

I would say yes. Just make sure it does not suck air when it is done. also Make sure you let the stuff setup for 24 hours so it fully cures. If you can do it inside it may take shorter to setup.

I agree, also if your going to throw away the old ones (not sure why you would keep them) wrap the boots with duct tape after the silicone sets.

That's what I was thinking of doing. The silicone set in pretty good so far. I don't want to spray it with carb cleaner to see if it's still leaking, I don't know if it'll break the silicone down. I'll wrap them to hold it over. She runs like a top and I'm going to take advantage of the excellent riding.
depending how big the hole is, there always JB weld. This crap works on anything

They're filled in with the silicone, and I'm going to duct tape them. I hate to ride it with them cobbled up, but it'll do till wednesday.
