Gas Mileage Question

Cougar - If you're seeing the bog at 30-35 then do the plug read at that speed. You're still in the range where adjusting the needle setting will help, if you are in fact running rich in that range. Gapping may help, I've actually never played with the gap on my plugs, gap specs are in the manual though. Keep us posted on where you end up.
will do ,i think i will try the gap route first as it will be the easist to do then go from there.if i remember correctly the mech at the time said the sled was running a little lean thus the riching of the needle .im using irudium plugs which i find are excellent anti-fouling plugs and preform excellent.will keep you posted but like i said i will not be able to try till next week on my days off.Isee im not the only one that cant sleep.

I see about 12 with mine setup the way it is in my sig. The first thing you need to know is what is in the carbs and what they are set at and go from there. Actually the pipes helped me diagnos engine running condition a lot.

Before with the stock exhaust I couldn't hear the burbble, I just new it was rich. I could as soon as I installed them, bingo I could tell exactly where the the problem spots were and corrected them accordingly. You will be able to tell when you in the "sweet" spot by the tone of the exhaust.

Just keep up on those plug checks, and piston wash is also very important thing to look at.

Talked to my mechanic today and he said I have Tempa Flow installed on the sled. He knows absolutely nothing about it so I am in need of some help. Can I adjust this to help with my gas mileage?

I would get in touch with Holtzman, they are the ones who mfg the tempa flow units. See if you can get an instruction manual. I don't know much about them although some on the board probably do and may be able to you.

well in the process of trying to adjust it the little black vacuum hose broke off with the barb inside it. If i want to remove the system can I just unhook the vacuum lines from the carbs? Also do I have to plug the holes on the carb where the vacuum line was connected? Thanks for the help guys
