Last year I had replaced the plugged air ducts that were in my Venom with the open ducts from a Viper. The thing is that I had gotten done reading an article from AMSnow on that Yamaha didn't have time to do more testing on the Venom with Open Ducts, they were worried about having the float bowl pressurization system dialed in because the winter they did testing was so poor. I'm wondering if I'm doing more harm then good with having these in? It seems to run pretty good, and the plugs are a nice chocolate brown, maybe a bit on the rich side. The article just has me thinking since, yamaha didn't have these in, maybe I shouldn't either. Just thinking about performance I might be loosing. Any thoughts? Thanks, Drew.
PS-I was thinking since I had Piped it, it might be more beneficial with more air flow in along with the air flow out.

TTT, anyone have any ideas. It makes some since to me that this might be a problem. I know there's a lot of engineering with airbox designs. The ducts don't dump directly into the box, as many of you know, but just under the hood.
if your plugs and wash are not indicating a problem i would leave it alone. all they might do for you is lower under hood temps while trail riding.
