Hey guys this is what I have in the sled right now. THis set up came in the sled when I bought it and it pulls real hard from about 0-80mph but flattens out after that. When I hit the throttle from a stand still it jumps to 8000 rpm and then pretty much stays there. I dont know if you guys remember last year I did a rebuild and this sled used to be ported but I put everything back to stock so my guess would be this is a too aggressive set up for my stock machine and some tuning needs to be done. The secondary looks like a green spring I twisted to 70 degrees and a 51/37 helix but thats just from memory. I forgot to take a pic last night of that but if memory serves me right thats what it is. Let me know what you guys think. Is this a heavy hitter clutch weight? How do you identify the primary spring. theres no markings on it. Id like to put a new spring as well but dont know what I need to get.

those are bender adjustable weights, bender orange spring and it likely has a aluminum spacer in the cover of the clutch to go with spring, along witht he 51/37 helix, was a very common kit from them.

As far as set ups go Don should my machine be making enough power stock to turn these weights or is that why I have a bog on wide open top speed. Just trying to figure these things out.

Still looking for some advice to fix my problem. Ive been reading a lot of clutching post but it seems not many are running benders clutching. Ive googled bender clutching but cant find anything. Im thinking this is alot of weight.(58.3) I have a allen screw weight in the heal of each weight. Should I try removing that or do I need to add tip weight. My engagement is 3800 and when I hammer it it jumps to 7900-8000 and stays there. I will say the sled is tearing better than it ever has 0-90 but stats to flatten there since my clutch is not shifting out completely. I also had a slight belt slip I believe was in the secondary so I went from 70-80 degrees and that helped a lot i now do not have that slip at takeoff and it seem to help alaround putting it at 80 degrees. secondary has green spring. Where can I find info on parts for this clutching? By the looks of the spring it wouldnt hurt to be replaced with a new one.

I am no clutching expert, but I would go with a proven setup that is posted on the site, that way people can give you advice to help dial you in. They are pretty cheap to get into and you will learn a lot along the way. If you picked up a helix, weights and a new yami spring you would be there!!!!!! My 2 cents!!!

If I had to guess though I would say that your spring is shot! Do you have any other springs to try? That spring is a bender orange and the rate is 55 kg preload and 135 kg total shiftout....A www yamaha spring is 45 preload and 119 total shift out. Which should get you somewhere close on the top....But your engagement is going to be low and you are going to have to take some heel weight out... But I am just guessing so don't run off and buy stuff without someone elses opinion!!!Hope this helps some :dunno:

Is there a good place to guy replacement bender parts because Im having a hard time finding anything on the net or on here about them. I would imagine these weights are like anyother weight like the 8dn 20 as far as being able to adjust them for different horse powered sleds. I know Im close Id just hate to give up on this clutch set up now. Like I said It hauls assss from 0-90 just needs to shift out a tiny bit more.

it is a bender orange & the problem may be the spring. there should be a 8mm aluminum shim under the spring in the primary?? if not call bender's @ 716 941 5840. they have the springs & shims.

Don't give up YAMAHIZAL700, I know my 1999 rocks with this setup. I will see if i can get someone to look at my weights for you this weekend. I have a broken collar bone so i can't do any work yet.

yes i got one ... what you wanna do in that clutch ?? is it in your ported sled ?? or the other one with the bender kit

The one with the Bender Kit, to see if its the same as YAMAHIZAL700. I would also like to remove some weight on the tip of my heelclickers. But gees i would have you there all night i don't want to waste your night.

well if u bring the clutch in the home i don't care or if u heat your little shop i don't care i just hate to freeze lolll..it take like 15 min tu remove some so ...

lolllllllllllllll didnt ask to burn all the place..just ask a little heat.. did u check your rpm to know how mutch gram to remove ... i don't know your rpm

Ya....your going to have to give them a call I have been all over the net, with no luck thats why I went yami!!!Good luck....I hope she rips for ya;)!
