When I bough my sled it had 144 studs up the center, mostly because it has 1 1/4 track in it. The problem is I could use more bit and was wondering if I could add studs too the outside with any problems.

My other option is going to a 1" track and run 192 studs.

My transfer is pretty good for my riding.

Any input would be great

ok, color me stupid, but what does the track being 1-1/4" have to do with sticking all the picks in the center? I was under the impression that was done for ease of turning (centering the studs) along with thats where most of the weight is. :dunno:

From what i have heard it is not advisable to put studs on the outside on any track with 1 1/4 or larger lugs, studs are too long and tend to tear through, too much leverage, just what i have heard.

I think studs on the out sides are retarded most ot the tears happends on the side..My friend had it on the outisde 2 times and both time he needed a heat exchanger

I have not had any issues with studs on the outside, but when i studded the venture, all 108 went in the center.

I do hear that some have more issues with outside studding, but I never have.

BADSXR, what mods have you done to your 700? 192 is a heck of a lot of studs for a 700 at least for trail use, unless you have it BUILT, or set for ice drags, then you probably wouldnt need a 1.25" track.
