We had a brand new one in upstate central ny back in 1970.
A stock SS396 was 36 HP so I would not put it in the same class
or catagory as a 1976 SRX440 which was closer to 96-98 HP
The following year (71) they made the SS396 into the GP396 ( minus tuned pipes but with something called a tuned muffler )
and they came out with the SS433 ( which was a 396 bored 120 over )

I found these pictures of a restored 1970 SS396 on a vintage site.
Credit to the people who restored it to it's original condition.
Maybe someone can do the same to the one you had pictured.

How about a 1974 SRX440 Factory Sled still in the crate?
Are they 100% sure that they recovered all of them?
just wishful thinking!

I like the 97 vmax 4, last years of the srx 700, original srx 340 and 440, and the ssr were all sweet. lots of others too, but tried to narrow it down lol!

1984 Phaser 500
1977 SRX 440A
1977 Enticer 250
1970 SS 396
1975 GPX 433G

I'm more partial to actual consumer sleds. I'm very surprised that noone put the Enticer 250 on the list lol!
