srx with no top end , PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!
I have a 98 srx 700. My problem is that it will only pull for about 300 to 400 feet then falls offf like you fell off. this sled is a animal out of the hole.
can beat just about any twin piped 7,8 or9 skidoo or cat, where talking four to five sled lenghts, but once we go about 300' they fly by like im sitting still. Pulls 8500 rpms and holds it . gearing is a 1.86 . im using hauck adjustables with a silver primary, 49/41 hauck helix, stock viper secondary spring.
Cant figure it out.???????????????

How are your clutch temps after some WOT pulls? You said the tach sticks 8500 out of the hole all the way through to top end?

woudn't power valve effect RPMs?

EVEN WHEN IT FEELS LIKE ITS NOSE DIVING RPM DOSE NOT CHANGE ? AND SHURE POWER VALVES WOULD AFFECT RPM. YA KNOW THIS MIGHT BE A LONG SHOT, BUT 8500 MIGHT BE TO HIGH RPM ON A 98. USE TO READ ALOT PEAK WAS 8300 ON A 98. 3:16 (yammie tony)

YOU CAN TEST THAT BY EYE. JUST PULL COVER AND WATCH MOTOR WHILE SOMEBODY STARTS SLED UP. SERVO MOTOR SHOUD OPEN. I THINK PART OF YOUR PROBLEM IS ALITTLE OVER REV. 3:16 (yammie tony)

now reving 8300 and still doing same thing. Power valves are working fine. Must be in the clutching somewhere.

Maybie try putting it up on a stand while watching the servio moter pully give it a couple of burps and see if the pully backs off when it should be still opened.Servio moters are common to fail on the 98s.

when started servo moves that dosent mean its working?

Yes but when it fails they will back off so the valves are closed when they should be open when running it over 1/2 trottle.
